If he was justifiably fired for the abuse, why did it only happen when the story became widely known? That's the issue Meyer / OSU is facing. As noted earlier, unless there is a better story, it looks like someone covered it up until there was no choice, just like Meyer lied and didn't clarify his statements until he had no choice. If there are alternative facts, then the investigation can explain them. If not, surely you don't expect a good ending.
