Engine oil level low

‘21 M340i displayed engine oil 2 quarts low. I just drove about 250 hwy miles averaging 85 mph when this happened. Not sure if the drive distance or speed burned the oil faster. Put in 1 quart royal purple and checked level an it was at the top. First time I had to add oil and 2 quarts seemed like a lot. Didn’t get a warning at 1 quart. Oil change done at dealer in march 2024. I’ll keep an eye on the oil level. Never had this issue with my 435i.

Pretty common with my 2020 M340i, happens every few thousand miles. I always have a quart in the trunk when I go on long drives. I’m at 50k. It first asked for a quart at 10k.

I have a 21' model @ 22K miles. Never had this issue. I don't agree with the other poster that this is normal. 2 quarts is a handful. I've been on several road trips over 400 miles at 80 - 85mph - no issues.

Your oil and driving style might also be a factor.
