Thanks! I don't think so...from my ruler read there's about .5 inch left to go until the sidewall pokes out from the fender. Based off tire specs, a 285 would poke out about .3 inch more than a 275.

If you want to play it "safe", you could run 275/35 rear and 245/40 front...

ApexWheels I am looking at ordering a set of FF SM10s for my M340i xdrive. I have stock height. Why not 285s in the rear? I see you all recommend the 245/40 and 275/35 setup which put the diameter a little taller. The 285 keeps close to same height but is wider in the rear. Can you comment on this?

We recommend a ton of different options on the guides including one with 285/30-19 in the rear. The reality is that there are a huge number of staggered combinations that can work on these wheels and be xDrive compatible, but I don't list every single option in the guide because it would make those fitments way too long. 245/35-19 front and 285/30-19 in the rear would be fine.

We recommend 245/40-19f, 275/35-19 to most customers because it has a taller sidewall which gives more ride comfort and has good availability so chances are someone can find this setup at their local distributor or tire rack. It isn't the only option and just because something is not on the guide doesn't mean it will never work. but for anyone going will a setup not on the guide, you'll need to be more well-versed in xDrive-compatible setups and the differences in widths than you would otherwise be going the easy route.

The Apex website says 255/285 is good for XDrive as is 245/285 but this calculator says it’s over 1% difference. Can you advise?

Sure. Carried out to 2 decimal places, it's a 1.15% difference (255/35-19, 285/30-19). The 1% is a general rule of thumb for xDrive but you can go slightly beyond that and still be safe. The F22 2 series in xDrive configurations often were equipped with 225/40-18 front and 245/35-18 rear tires, a 1.35% difference, from the factory.

This one is right on the edge of xDrive compatible in my opinion, but it's a better fitment in terms of pairing the width of the front tire to the rear and reducing understeer relative to the 245 front/285 rear. If you were going to run a 245 in the front, the 275 in the rear with the larger sidewalls would be my pick, hence its place in the guide.

2024 M440i xDrive with the ZTK performance tire and cooling package plus adaptive suspension.

Apex VS-5RS 19x9" ET25 wheels in satin bronze. Currently running stock staggered rubber. 245/40-19 x 255/40-19.

Amazing wheels, zero fitment issues, and the car looks completely different.

Chris stopped by to try some other fitments and we took this chance to shoot some Supra ML-10RTs on his car. While this isn't the fitment we'd recommend for 99% of customers, I did want to share these shots to show the ML-10RT on a G20.

Wheels:

Front: 19x9.5 ET25 wi/ 265/35-19
Rear: 19x10.5 ET35 wi/295/30-19

Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
