On the 125mile round trip I did to the golf at Troon from home a few times last week (Mainly motorway with some stop stat queuing into car park at end). my modest 320i xDrive got a best mpg of 58.2 which I was reasonably good i thought...

Setting cruise control at 70mph on my 330i on motorways 60mpg is easily achieved.

Garage List
Left Switzerland (near Zurich) this morning with the M440d at 5 am. Cruised through France, quick bite to eat at Luxembourg, then through Belgium and Holland arriving at rotterdam at 3 pm.

Keeping sensibly around the speed limits. Comfort mode. Odometer showed distance of 800kms. Averaged 63.6 mpg. With just under half a tank remaining.

Got my witchcraft card renewed.

Just tootling up the M6 today, with a full boot etc. Quite pleased with 48.2 pmg in the old G21 M340i

I usually fill up at Carlisle which is about 50 miles away, but I still have 220 miles range (done 319m so far), so will push on further north. Guess I usually am in more of a hurry and get 10-15 mpg less!!!

A summary of my 330i 2024 review on the MyBMW app.

Driven 6265 Miles since I bought it in May

Majority of the miles are on Road Trips in the UK and France.

The best mpg performance was 60.2 but on average it clocked between 45-55 mpg on road trips and 28-40 mpg on regular drives around town.

Also sharing a picture of the car after a wheel refurb done by BMW as a Goodwill gesture.

Hope 2025 goes well with plans to visit the Alps and South of France.

Share your End of Year 2024 summary for fun.

My most efficient trip in an 340i mht was 48mpg on a mway dawdle from Manchester to Dundee with cruise set around 70.. 40+ is easy to get on a run.

How about looking at some other stats from the idrive.
My car has 58k miles on it.
(50k of those were previous owner)
Long term averages since the very beginning:
31.6mpg
38mph avg speed
Almost 5 DAYS engine off with MHT
3000mi of coasting. 5% distance

And my stats since I bought the car late Oct 23.
Over 7239mi
30.6mpg
30.3mph

10Days 7 hours driving!
Just under 1day of that with engine off.
391mi MHT coasting - 5% of the distance covered

It is Mineral Grey. The colour is looking bluish due to light and reflections

I have a 2020 320d sport saloon with 55000 kms from new. Full BMWSH.

Drove from Cherbourg to Turin last May without trying to drive economically. Cruise control set at 130/140 km/h. Did the entire trip of 1100 kms+ on one tank.

Hopped out of the heated leather sports seats ready to turn around and do it all again next day if necessary. Someone mentioned witchcraft earlier! Amazing machine, sadly no longer available in RHD!

M4 Delmere Service to nr Newbury.

74.1 MPG at 50 MPH (had time to kill) using Tesco Momentum 99 RON. It is mostly downhill and summer helped too. In ECO pro mode.

That must have be very pleasing. It is a shame the politics about diesel is so negative. I heard (but might be wrong) that if development had carried on as pre-EV directives, that diesel EU7 emissions would have been extraordinarily clean. I had BMW diesels for 22 years before moving to petrol, and always wonder whether a M340d might have been better. I buy so have to live with the consequences, so went the slightly safer petrol route. In fact these days, I don't drive it so much as I used to, as I like to pootle about in my V6 Amarok which is a hell of a vehicle - too big for town, but can handle the pot holes so much better!!

I do remember doing Caen to the Alps and back in my old E61 535d and getting 28mpg! That was in the days before the police got rather strict.
