Hot lapping session @ High Plains Raceway

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...wIpq7VBThbBhK6
Just some vids and info of my most recent hot lapping day for those interested.
Using my youtube channel to summarize and chronicle my track days so I can look back and track my progress as i advance. This was my 3rd time at this track and I managed several PBs. My best being ~5secs faster than my previous day here.
For reference my setup is very basic, basically just wheels/summer tires and some chasis stiffening:
MHD stage 0(stock tune) with speed limiter removed and max cooling.
AA downpipe
19x8.5 255/35/19 Hankook ventus s1 280tw
Front pads Hawk DTC60 Rear:Pmu PS, SS lines w/motul 600
KC front/rear/mid braces
Dinan strut tower braces

I'll be doing the NASA driving school this weekend and will share more videos!

Ok, I started with "Session 3 with side by side". What program is that? I am really surprised they allow for wheel-to-wheel racing.

Thanks! That was from this last Saturday and I haven't edited or added descriptions to a lot of those videos. This was the NASA HPDE driving school. I was in level 3(advanced group) and yes . . our 3rd session they had us pair up with another student and do some side by side slower paced laps. It was actually a really great experience and pretty comfortable. Here's some info on the NASA driving school program-highly recommended. I'm sure there's a chapter local to you. If not there's always BMW CCA driving schools as well, that's where I started and got a lot of hands on training from my instructor. Enjoying the G20 in every way possible!

Ok, that makes sense. I thought it was a "typical" track day and was surprised.

I was lucky enough to have worked for Skip Barber back in the day so I have a bit of experience with driving schools. I actually went through the racing school prior to working there. Great program.

I did have my daughter attend a BMW CCA teen driving school. Life changing experience for her in regards to driving. I had taken her, and my Son, to a large parking lot when they had their permits and worked on skills missing from most drivers ed programs. My Son was more receptive. My Daughter had the typical "this is my Dad, he has no idea what he is talking about" teen attitude. After she went through the BMW program, she realized I had a clue.

I loved seeing how many adults attended the class. I wish they marketed it more to all age groups.

Our local GGC CCA chapter specifically markets “Adult and Teen driving school” for the exact reasons you mentioned. Most average drivers should attend these sessions as most are practicing dangerous or negligenct driving practices.

RCKYMTN M34OI what’s your YT channel? Video is not working for me here. I’d love to check out the track day video.
Now that this is your third track day with the G20, how do you feel the KC braces helped with stiffness and/or body roll?

My channels name is “T-shred” but probably easier to just search “m340 high plains” and go from there. The latest videos are from my 4th time out at the NASA event. I think the KC braces help give the car a more planted feel and steering is a bit more crisp. Probably not absolutely game changing but a worthy upgrade imo. Just scooped up sway bars and camber plates from a member here so hope to install over the winter 👍👍👍 I’m sure that will make a world of difference
