Catless DP without a map and no CEL

Hi all. I’m wanting to put a cat less DP on my 2021 340i but can’t be bothered sending the ECU off for unlocking. I’ve read in here that that’ll throw up a CEL and I can’t stand warning lights on the dash.

I’ve read in a different part of the forum it’s possible to have the DP without a map or CEL if you fit an O2 spacer but that was an old thread from 2017.

Does anybody know if that still applies to the hybrid models and if so which spacer I’d need?

Thanks.

Garage List
A spacer alone wont help for a catless downpipe.
You need a mini cat that´s placed in front of Lambda 2.
The problem with all these solutions is, that Lambda 2 is still needed for the ECU to calculate the best mix.

Appreciate the advise. It’s looking like it’s not going to be worth it for me. Just found out it’s €750 just to unlock the ECU then a pipe and flash on top of that. I want it more for noise than performance. My big racer days are behind me.

Throw one of our intakes on there and call it a day

+1

if you want noise, get an intake or exhaust and you dont need to worry about the CEL

Thanks guys, I’m booked in for an OPF delete next week and maybe a res delete, im still undecided on that.

I’d seen a video online stating B58 owners tend not to bother with intakes because the engine bay is so hot?
