Lost Climate Control Rules

Hi all,

I have a 2021 M440i that just had the connected drive 3 yr plan expire. Not gonna pay $150 for features I am not going to use. I just noticed that my "climate control rules" disappeared from my menu. This allows me to set the heated seats and heated steering wheel to active depending on the outside temp. Do I have to code it back in with Bimmercode? If so can anyone give me some pointers on how to do this. I have Bimmercode, just need the steps.

Tried rebooting IDrive but still not there.

Not sure if this should just disappear after the connected drive expire, or if it was the result of an OTA update - I am on the latest version. (not sure which one, but can check). Thanks.

There's two parts to code part 1 will be in headunit hu_mgu. There will be 3 options available seat heating front automatic activation (1 of 2), seat heating rear, & steering wheel heating. Part 2 of the coding will be in Body Domain Controller BDC_BODY3 there will be 2 options available to code. Steering wheel heating automatic activation (2 of 2), and seat heating automatic activation (2 of 2)

I noticed something strange after coding this. After a few days the checkmark disappears and I have to go back into the climate menu and recheck the boxes for both seat and steering wheel for the driver (I don't activate the passenger seat).

I thought it might be a glitch so I held the volume button for 110 seconds to reset the head unit, but it still happens.

Anyone have this same issue?

Anyone else losing the checkmark for both seat and steering wheel climate control coded via Bimmercode?

Mine is now happening more frequently as the check mark will disappear in one or two days after the boxes are re checked off.

Wondering if there is a glitch in the coding program.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue? Don't really want to get a yearly subscription to BMW to get this feature back as an app.

Yes, I have same issue. Annoying!
I've tried everything I can think of, nothing seems to make it stick.

Would love to know the fix for this.

I am going to try removing and adding back the feature to see if that works. I reached out to Bimmercode and this is their response:

"Dear Customer,

We will investigate this issue, but currently, we cannot determine why the option is not functioning as expected.

I wonder if anyone has had success coding this using bimmerutility?

For me, it is all there and seems to work - except the drivers seat - the check mark keeps getting unchecked for drivers seat and steering wheel.
