The dealership said they think so and quoted me $500-$700. So I went to a body shop and had my chrome one replaced with a black one for $300. They estimated 2.6hrs. They never told me if it was necessary to remove the bumper. The replacement grill looked like it was just held in by clips. I just wanted it done so I coughed up the money. Another poster here said their dealership quoted them only $120 to do the replacement.

Note: make sure you get the right one...there’s 3 versions; without park assist, with park assist, and with park assist + driving assist. BMWpartpros.com had the best prices and delivery for this item.

thanks for the info, good to know.

yep, that's where I am planning to get the front grille, now just need to find a shop to change them for a reasonable price.

Just swapped mine to the black grille and did it myself. Just give it a good tug and it came out. Only tricky part was unplugging/plugging back in the park assist sensors but literally took me less than 15 mins to complete. [IMG][/IMG]

My new G26 grille appears to not have been installed correctly at the factory. It's not flush at the top and the bottom was popped out. I was able to get the bottom popped in although it doesn't appear to be tight but the top won't budge. Any tips to handle this myself without dismantling the entire front. Kind of annoyed that this isn't secured properly. Here's a pic of the top.

Here is a video, tutorial, grill removal without taking the bumper off. I did it myself, the camera was a little bit tricky, do not apply lits of force, be gentle!

I have the same situatiaton, less gap, but isn’t flush. Don’t remember though how it was before. It doesn’t move, seems very well placed. All the margins are flush.
