Is there any way to code the emergency brake button? I've noticed for a while now that I can't engage the handbrake. But when I have autohold engaged, the automatic engagement and release work. There are no errors.

Are you talking about the parking brake? That's a GWS problem, likely hardware more than software. Autohold working implies that your EMF actuator is working correctly, plus these cars are notorious as they get older for having the GWS shit out and lose the parking brake function.

Sometimes a repair kit works, sometimes you need to shell out ~$1000 for a new GWS.
