Let me start off by saying over the last couple of years, I couldn't figure out how to get the Automatic Parking feature to work on my 2020 M340. I know, DUH!!

The box for Automatic Parking was checked & I would activate with the button labelled with a P and traffic cone. Every time I passed a possible parking space, the made a gong sound & a P in a rectangle appeared on the iDrive. I kept tapping the screen, but car did nothing.

Finally, about a month ago, I viewed several videos-- most said tap the screen, but one said tap something. So next time in a parking lot, I pressed the P button and when car gonged & possible spot appeared on iDrive, I pressed down on the iDrive controller and the car came to life, automatically turning, changing gears & backed into a parking space. Wow, it worked terrifically-- and I used several more times.

Then it stopped working and, for the life of me, I can't figure out why??

Yeah, Headunit gongs & displays parking space, but when I click on controller nothing happens, whereas before parking Assistant took over & backed car into space. I know controller is working because it works fine on other iDrive functions. How do I check if it's what you suggest?
