Musway M6V3 amp - any good?

Hi all. Avid reader, first time poster.

Have recently got a 2022 G20 with the European 'base' audio system with 6 speakers. I've followed the threads on here about the Match 7DSP with interest, but getting hold of one in the UK is tricky.

I've been offered the Musway M6V3. It's plug n play and tunable wirelessly from an app on your phone. A very reputable audio professional suggests its broadly similar in quality to the 7DSP, and is just over £200 all-in cheaper.

Anyone have one, heard one, or decided not to buy one (and if so why).

Many thanks in advance.

There is no PnP harness for this DSP/amp and your RAM system - their MPK-BMWM6 harness is applicable only to the F3x HiFi system, not to your G2x Stereo (6-speaker) system.

Interesting. The vendor suggested it was. The ad says so too.

The RAM harness in the photo is not the MPK-BMWM6, the only BMW OEM amp harness in the Musway website.

This RAM harness must be custom of the seller, not from Musway.

Thanks Technic, very helpful.

Has anyone actually heard the Musway? I'm interested in whether the 7DDP is worth waiting for (and paying more for)?

For the price and specs, this Musway looks good especially if you get it with the PnP RAM harness. Anything else will cost you at least $150USD extra with the RAM PnP harness - the UP 7DSP + RAM harness will cost about $500USD extra.

Regardless, anything that you add to the RAM will sound significantly better than OEM, and tuning using the cell phone is more convenient than using a laptop. I would suggest to add tweeters to the front and rear doors with the DSP/amp that you select.

Yeah, I've thought about the speakers, but read elsewhere in this forum that the amp is the thing to do first as it'll produce the most notable improvement.

Am I right in thinking the door speakers are single cone? If so, would replacing them with two-ways produce a noticeable difference? I don't know that I want to buy new door surround trims as it'll all have to go back to standard when the car goes back to BMW in three years time.

I'm not an audiophile, but I want something better than I have. My previous F31 had H&K, and that was good enough.

Just don’t replace or add any OEM speakers. Any aftermarket amp will be more than enough upgrade.

Given the UP 7DSP doesn't look to be available in the UK for some time, I've bought the Musway. Technic, thanks for your thoughts so far.

To be clear, I'm not going to hear any difference between the OEM door speakers and some upgrade two-ways? E.g.

Those Focal ic speakers do not fit in the front doors of your G20.

Try these: https://www.eton-gmbh.com/en/product...uct/b-100-x-w/

Your DSP/amp upgrade will sound better with tweeters, as long as you tune the DSP to correct the front channels signal high frequency boost. Otherwise adding tweeters will make the front doors sound very bright.

How did you get on with the Musway amp installation? Was it worthwhile? I'd like to upgrade my HiFi audio (because it isn't very hifi) and plan on starting with the amp. Thanks!
