Hi all, I have imported my g22 BMW 430i x drive 2021 from Canada (Montreal) to Spain (Barcelona) as a change of residence move so hopefully i wont pay taxes, and I got my temporary registration plates, but now for the homologation process im having trouble.

I took it to a pre-ITV inspection at a nearby Bosch and they said everything is ok except for the rear foglight and rear yellow turn signals , which my car has RED turn signals in the back, and i/they arent sure if the foglight exists and is just not enabled.. so I went to a nearby BMW dealership, and they said they cant do this homologation after checking with the Madrid office as “when they put my VIN number the NA parts come up only” so I ask cant you just order parts for a local EU 430i? And he was like no the wiring is different and programming is different..
but reading here ive seen many different cases with different outcomes, and im not sure what to do now, and most mechanics here i asked around are afraid to touch the car now im thinking ill just buy rear lights with the yellow turn signals from alibaba, get them installed (and hope they work) and try to program the control module to activate the rear and front foglights together or something as I dont even have the button for a rear foglight to activate it..

Also i dont have a place to put the license plate upfront and using a tow hook plate holder and so far no police car had stopped me..

Any tips or advice or contacts that could help would be appreciated!

The internet is full of horror stories about people trying to import cars from outside the EU in.
You can order anything from the BMW dealer, or buy from any EU ebay site with just the part number for the part you want. All you need to do is some searching to find parts catalogues.
As far as I know NA cars never have rear foglights, so would expect some hoops to jump through there.

As expected the part no for the US spec lights and light panel are different, but the wiring harness seems to be the same part which suggest everything is there.

There are different LHD and RHD versions of the inner light section (mounted to the boot lid) I’m assuming this is to do which side the fog light is fitted, with the UK, Japan etc.. RHD, and the EU with LHD.
