2021 330i for a friend
I have a very good friend who’s looking at a 2021 330i. 33k miles. She’s extremely concerned about major issues as she’s never had a car of this class before.
I have a 2013 328 and a 2022 m850i. My 2013 has been rock solid. Are there any major concerns or red flags to look for in a G20? I’m just not that familiar with the platform. Thanks!! |

From my research/ experience, the G20/ B48, is a pretty solid/ reliable combo. 33K is low miles but if she's still has concerns, a BMW extended service plan is an option if the car is still covered by the new car warranty. Purchasing a CPO is another option, that will get her an extra year's coverage, although not quite as comprehensive as the new car warranty.

G series is another golden time for BMW, soild, fast,, good fuel efficiency, plus all the modern techs. Just be sure to review the maintenance history thoroughly and make sure no hidden issues.

Excellent point about fuel economy. My '20 330ix got terrific mileage but you should feed it premium which negates some of the savings due to excellent fuel efficiency.

Just purchased a 2020 330i xDrive with 80k miles. My first BMW. The DAY I bought it the CEL came on. Took it to the dealership as I wanted a full check up anyway.
Front brakes and sensors $380 1 tire $325 Fuel tank vent valve $620 Upper radiator blinds $760 Plus miscellaneous charges + tax The radiator blinds is something I've read a couple other posts on. Seem to be something to make sure they're working properly before buying. Not sure if that's what threw the code but they ain't cheap. Don't know if they're exclusive to this series (you may be familiar already). Don't even know what the hell they are or do. |
