Help, will these fit my car M440i xDrive
Hi - I figured some people here would be able to advise on the fitment.
I am buying new wheels for my daily driver its a 2021 BMW M440i xDrive. OEM setup - 225/40/19 - square setup, so same all around. Factory wheels are 19x8 ET 27 (all around as well) The wheels I am buying are 19x8.5 ET 25 and 19x9.5 ET 38 - will this work? The factory wheels are tucked in so many guys add 10-13mm wheel spacers up front and 13-15mm in the rear for the M340s and M440s. Appreciate any help. I want these to work with no issues so figured to check before I order. Thank you, Mike |

Doesn't own a m440i. But 8.5 ET25 and 9.5 ET38 sounds pretty reasonable.
I believe the OEM staggered setup is 8 ET27 front and 8.5 ET40 rear. So your setting looks good without a need for wheel spacer. (unless you want your wheels to pop out) |

Since you change to a staggered setup, and you have xDrive, the choice of tires and tire models is important. It's not clear if you are after a less "tucked in" look.
As a guide I can give you the staggered (but 18") option code 1R3 that came with my 2021 M440i xDrive: F: 7.5 J x 18, 225/45 R18 95Y ET25 R: 8.5 J x 18, 255/40 R18 99Y ET40 The tires are non-RFT Bridgestone Turanza T005 XL If you go for the standard width of tires, 225 front and 255 rear you will only move the outside of the tires 2mm compared to what you have in the front and compared to the standard staggered fitment in the rear. Exact look and feel also depends on the tire models you choose. It also affects the exact rolling circumference that is important for xDrive. If aftermarket rims will clear the calipers also depends on if you have the standard M-sport brakes or the larger ones in front and the design of the rims. (I have standard M-sport brakes and smaller rims than you consider.) |

I have the same original set up and purchased wheels on the same size you mentioned. I performed significant diligence to make sure they fit and used multiple calculators. I will mount the wheels w/ the new tires on Wednesday and will update you on the final results.
In the meantime try playing with these calculators: https://www.willtheyfit.com/ https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/ The only watch out for you is you have Xdrive, I don't. I've read is best to keep it square, but I am not in a position to be sure. |

Thanks! Keep me posted, would love to see what you go with. Stock setup on xDrive w/20”: F: 245/35/R20 8.5jx20 35mm offset R: 255/35/R20 9jx20 42mm offset Assuming no issue with wheel width in the back, I’ll probably go with: F: 245/45/R18 8.5jx20 35mm offset R: 245/45/R18 8.5jx20 35mm offset + 7mm spacers |
