Disabling Auto Start Stop - 2023 430i

Hey Guys,

I am having trouble disabling A.S.S through Bimmercode. I set it as inactive—however, A.S.S would only be disabled for the first couple minutes of my driving. It will be active again after several stops and the engine will shut down again when the car stops.

Any solutions for this? Does Bimmercode's A.S.S function actually work for the new 4 series?

Drive in sport mode. Better engine and transmission response every time you drive.

My automatic on off seems to be acting really weird lately. Like it has a mind of its own and actually I don't even really care. It seems like it takes too much trouble to figure some stuff out so I just let it go. If it doesn't shut off at one red light it'll probably shut off at the next red light. Now if I go for a week or two maybe I'll worry about it.

I drive my car in sport (engine, transmission, and steering) in stop and go Chicago city traffic every single day. I don’t put it in Sport+.

It does. Do you have the button in the center console to disable it? If you do, code the auto-start/stop memory function to remember last setting. Then start the car, drive normally then turn off. It should keep the setting the next time you start the car.

Still not working? Email Bimmercode support team for help.

Coding ASS to off for my 2021 M340i works fine and it stays that way. The only time it reverted was when they updated/reset the computer during a dealer service for another issue.

I have also tried coding the car to start up in sport individual, and then turned all the sport individual settings to comfort mode. That also worked fine, but it was easier to just code ASS completely off.
