VIP Control Unit: Encoding Required
Hello, reaching out to see if anyone has experienced or knows how to resolve this issue I'm having. After clearing codes using ISTA my car has these codes remaining.
023908 - VIP control unit: encoding required, brand new 80419A - High-beam (FL), left: Short circuit (my headlights are fully functional) D16DED - Signal (driver assistance, convenience function and safety function) invalid, transmitter D16E02 - Signal (chassis and suspension, acceleration data) invalid, transmitter DCS/VIP D16EBC - Signal (chassis, steering angle) invalid, transmitter DSC/VIP D16EBF - Signal (chassis, steering angle) invalid, transmitter DSC/VIP If there is anyone here who can walk me through how to encode my VIP Control Unit or point me in the right direction as to why this error would occur in the first place that would be helpful. For a while now I've had this "Chassis Stabilization Error" that effectively has my car in a limp mode. No launch control, no traction control, no cruise control, no lane assist, no parking assist. On top of those issues, the gas range reading is completely off, showing 900 miles on a full tank, along with other minor issues. All these things popped up when I first flashed my bm3 tune after getting my ecu unlocked. Please note, I've checked over my connections on the DME, replaced fuses (though none were blown), checked wiring for the listed "faulty" sensors, replaced and coded new battery. I've tried taking my car to the dealership but because I'm tuned they said they won't work on my car. And local shops blame the tune, however, I've been in communication with the support over at ProTuningFreaks as well as Femto and was told that the unlock nor tune are responsible for these codes. If any more information is required please ask, any and all suggestions are welcome. |

Find a coder who can resolve the VIP module issue for you remotely.
I've never had to do it but a quick Google says it's related to the DSC, guess they are now putting 2 modules in the DSC and that's one of them. Anyways a decent coder should be able to get you set up with ista and resolve it for you. |

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (ECU)=> Left-Click on GWS => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from latest I-Level shown (bottom) => Select OK => Right-Click on GWS (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE. After doing that boot up ISTA clear codes and follow the steps it tells you to calibrate your DTC. |
