ordered Sensatec dash...looks like plastic/rubber?

Can anyone confirm what the Sensatec dash looks like on the G20? Whatever the material is looks really bad…i honestly can’t tell if it’s any difference than the material on the top of the doors which I believe is actually the plastic/rubber

The material on the tops of the doors is SensaTec/leatherette, which is basically vinyl. What did you think SensaTec was? The SensaTec dash looks better than the plain dash.

The seat SensaTec which of course isn’t amazing either has a much nicer grain and feel than the stuff on the the top of the door. Just feel like the actual seat material on the middle part of the door vs the top. Huge difference.

All our Gxx cars have the SensaTec dashboard and it does feel slightly nicer than the standard resin on the top of the door panels. Having said that, we only got them for the looks of the stitching, not the feel.

I ordered the Sensatec dash. I haven't received the car yet but my only expectations is that it's better than the standard.

I, also, was surprised and disappointed with the look and feel of my optional Sensatec dash. It pales in comparison to my Mazda CX-5’s dash.

I have a Sensatec dash on my X1, and it looks much better than that. Your dash pic looks a lot like the standard dash on my prior F30.

Yea exactly! That was my thought. So I guess I should re-iterate. Is this what I should expect? Or did I somehow get the wrong dash put on my car lol

That's what it looks like on the G20's. It's a coarse vinyl, but better looking than the injection molded plastic standard dash.

My X2 had a nicer dash than my 20k more expensive m440i. The dash and cooling package were the only two options my car doesn't have. Both dashes look cheap IMO but oh well, the rest of the car is premium.

My Sensatec dash is very smooth faux leather. It doesn't have that grain and does have the stitching. It's nicer than the regular soft touch plastic.

I think it came standard on 2020 M340i models. I don't think I would spring for the option if building an LCI today.

I don't even have sensatec dash on my M4 nor full leather, so basically I have the standard inejction moulding one. HAHA, at least it's soft touch- but yeah the sensatec looks really nice, I'd go for it if I were building a G20.

Honestly for me - they cheaped out by not adding a stitch on that area on the passenger side where the 2 panels intersect. I initially thought in my car maybe that was just a defect. . . I think the leather dash option in my f80 was the same price as this option. Its a little underwhelming, but I will agree its nicer than the "not sensatec" option.

?? You mean stitching it with the thread showing the way it is along the front edge of the dash over the instrument cluster?

My X3 dash & upper doors are Sensatec and it looks much nicer than my M340 Sensatec dash. Sensatec is vinyl, just a nicer name for it. Leather dash option would be nice.
