Random things I've come across trying to enable M TRACK tachometer
So I'm determined to figure out how to enable the M/Track tachometer in the instrument cluster on my M340i, but so far have been unsuccessful using Bimmercode Expert Mode...
I did however manage to find two things that work (and many others that don't work) 1) xVIEW: Has working altitude and inclinometer (roll axis only)! 2) Tire Pressure/Temperature widget (with BC button): It works! Now for some other things that look interesting but don't actually do anything at all... 3) I think this is on the right track to enable the M tachometer, but it doesn't save the command or do anything. 4) Same with the M Menu, doesn't do anything but funny to see on a non M-car Unfortunately I changed like dozens of settings in Bimmercode so I have no idea which ones caused these features to appear |

Xview seems interesting
Another member had also managed to code M modes but it wasn't of any use since our cars don't have the M1/M2 buttons on the steering wheel. Also, can you do me a favor and check your heads up display options in the display settings and see if you have the option to turn on and off the rev/shift light in the HUD? I used to have it but I believe it disappeared after I coded the tyre pressure gauges in the live cockpit.

I wonder if we can simulate the M1/M2 button with a CAN command? This may be the trick to turning on the M Mode Tacho |

Bumping this thread because I was very determined to find out if this is possible as well, glad someone else is on the same page. When I was experimenting, I managed to do all of what you did as well.
If anyone on this forum has a X3M/X4M/M8, all of these cars have M track mode tachometers, perhaps digging into HU_MGU and DKOMBI4 in those vehicles and seeing the differences in configuration in Expert Mode with Bimmercode could potentially yield to a solution for our vehicles. |

imported_Mike ,
Thanks for digging around! The Xview intrigues me. Were you digging around in DKOMKI(Instrument cluster) or HG_MGU (iDrive)?

Same here. I couldn't find an option for xview when I searched. I wonder what I missed.

You can get the widget using Bimmercode but the car symbol is missing. You also lose out on some other features.

jimmmyzhou ,
I have coded my car so that tire pressure & temp widgetvappears in Instrument cluster-- from another thread. Would you be kind enough to share what functions to code to get the oil pressure & turbo pressure widget in Instrument cluster? BTW, when I coded the tire widget, the option to display tach in HUD disappeared from iDrive, but you get get a choice in iDrive as to HUD -- standard or M,BUT M has nothing to select in it & nav info is gone
