Stage 2 Custom Tuned 330e
I just want to post my experience and results incase someone may find it useful. I've finally decided to get my DME unlocked. I've decided to use Kiesmotorsport's services to get it done. They are reputable and I've always been a fan of theirs. They are about a couple of hours away from me so I decided to drop my DME off directly to them to cut on the shipping time. But I decided to have it over nighted to me after they received it from femto. It took 6 business days for me to get it back. I dropped it off Monday, and got it back the following week on a Tuesday afternoon. I was expecting 2 weeks at least but I was surpised I got it back that fast.
I decided to flash BM3 OTS stage 2 e30 map but it was not running properly. My car would go on limp mode on Drive, on Hybrid and Sport mode. It would run fine on Xtraboost mode but it was not launching properly. It would not build boost when launching. I decided to open a ticket with BM3 suport and at the moment, the OTS map is being worked on by them. I am just waiting to get a laptop and a OBD cord. So then I decided to get a custom tune since I was planning to get one anyways in the future. I still want my OTS map fixed since it came with my BM3 purchase. A good friend cola.p suggested to get tuned from his tuner tonym2c. He has great results from his 530e. tonym2c's shop Racetoolthailand is legit. I know there are a lot more modified 330e's overseas, specially in Asia so I know the experience is there. He pretty much tuned my car for a whole day lol. I had plenty of time in between work so he was able to complete it in a day. We are in different time zones so he was tuning my car pretty much the whole night till a few hours past midnight. He made sure the tune was right. He didnt want to sleep until he was comfortable. Big big props to him. So far, I am very impressed with the results. The car pulls so much harder. My hybrid and sport mode drives as normal. I have some pops and burbles specially after letting of the gas after a hard pull so that's a plus. I know my dragy times are going to be good. I am planning to do some 100-200 and 1/4 mile pulls this weekend if the weather is good. The only issue I may run into is my tires would be spinning a lot, specially when I do my pulls very early in the mornings when my tires are cold. I decided to do a quick 0-60 pull and hit 3.77s with a lot of tire spin. That is very telling to me how much faster the car is now. My fastest 1/4 mile was 12.82 with 0-60 at 4.60s. With a 3.77s 0-60, I think I am at 12.0-12.3s range on the street with a good amount of tirespin. 100-200, I'm expecting low 10s. Side note, I am not planning to run this map daily on a hybrid car, because I still want to save some gas to and from work lol. I just like having this option when I want to have some fun and now it's really fun. Last edited by 330eJL; 10-18-2024 at 06:06 AM.. |

Results surpassed my expectations. These are my first try on these passes and they weren't perfect. I let off early in the 1/4 mile and my tires were cold. On the 100-200 pass, the road is a little curved and I switched lanes.

Finally got her dyno'd and made 414whp and 491 lb-ft of torque. I didn't expect to hit these numbers at all with just a downpipe and tune.
I just want to add, my tune is an etune or road tune. I'm sure my tuner can squeeze more if have it dyno tuned. Maybe in the future. Last edited by 330eJL; 11-02-2024 at 08:15 AM.. |
