They have had my car for over 3 months now.........
Seriously?! I've been a BMW guy all my adult life and only drive BMW's. This might be the end to new BMW's for me (My E30 is a keeper though ;-)). |

Could any of you guys post some video with the sound of this ?
I think I may have it too, but to me it's just like very loud road/tire noise, like there was no isolation at all. On some asphalts it's a bit better, but 99% of the time, it's clearly heard. I have a double-glass and am on winter staggered 18" wheels - bmw oem with pirelli sottozero 3 run-flats. |

My dealer mentioned something about adding extra dampening to the car, but don't think they've tried it yet. |

Btw, I picked up my car last week as I've totally lost any hope of them ever fixing it. However, they won't give me a discount in leasing or anything. Ohh, and their super mechanics also managed to fuck up something else, so above 90 km/h there's a bad rumble. My 6-year old daughter thinks it sounds like an open window?!

i just read something interesting. The first letter in the last 7 digits of our VIN numbers indicates where the car was produced. All of the VIN's I have received from you guys all start with F, which means the cars were produced in Dingolfing. Other cars are produced in Munich.
I'm wondering if it could be a production error, only happening in Dingolfing, hence why some owner don't seem to have issues? |

My dealer finally got a reply from BMW Germany.
They are acknowledging the problem. Reassuring it is only a cosmetic issue but which will still have highest priority once the Corona crisis and restrictions are over. BTW, my seven digit VIN also starts with an F.... |

FDM
Hi.
Anyone from Denmark with FDM membership who have asked FDM lawyers (or can ask them) how much time is acceptable to allow BMW to troubleshoot before the lease can be cancelled without costs and with the initial "one-time" deposit refunded ? |

Maybe the "Specialist" will just bring some duct tape to fix it |

I have a new finding btw (The never ending story...)
When i reverse (maybe also forward driving) out of a drive way in gravel - the noise is there too?! So, small vibrations must cause the issue. I'm wondering if they tried putting the car on a lift and at the same time put pressure on the tyre somehow (to compress the suspension) while turning the wheel. Could some of you try driving in gravel at low speed (Like 5-10 km/h) and tell if yours noisy as well? |
