Dyno Woes - Tech couldn't hook my car up
I hope this is the right place to post this but I'm looking for some help.
I went to Dynolabs here in Atlanta last night to finally get a baseline done on my F80 as I'm planning to start off the modfest. I have gone to this dyno many many times and I dyno'd my E9xs there. I definitely want to go to this same dyno as it will be a more apples to apples comparison. I went with a buddy of mine Dat who was dynong his 2013 M5(580rwhp/600+tq). He was first up and no issues. Guy pops the hood, puts his little clamp around one of Dats ignition wires, and away they went. Now it's my turn. I pull my F80 up onto the rollers, open the hood, and hear 'what the f'. Pretty much the guy at the dyno had NO IDEA where to put his little clamp on my car to get the 'tach loop'. He said we could dyno but I wouldn't get RPM or TQ readings. I felt this was a waste of money so we decided I would do more research and come back. So my question. How the F do you hook this up? Thanks David |

Here is a pic of the wires with the engine covers removed. I believe the correct wire is the white wire, where you see the scuffing from the pickup. Mike Last edited by Mike@N54Tuning.com; 02-27-2015 at 08:42 AM.. |
