the base dash is still digital. it just looks like the digital dash with plastic rings on it like the x3 has. if you get live cockpit pro / nav then it's like the new 8 series

When they announced the car I remember them saying that digital dash was only available on Msport . But after playing around with it it seems like on the sport line once you add Convenience and premium package it switches over to digital from standard. This is based off watching the pictures change . Doesn’t anybody know if it’s in those packages ?

I really really really hate that BMW locks you into the colors available when you choose an M-Sport car. Phytonic Blue is a sky blue and I want wand Mediterranean Blue but can't have it because I want the M Sport styling.

Grrr.

Your memory is inaccurate, reread the release thread in the sticky section (and check out all the photos). All G20 330s have digital dash standard. If you upgrade to the premium package you get the "live cockpit"

Standard digital dash = digital circles replicating traditional gauges (see BMW X3)

Live cockpit pro = all new design digital gauges with the hexagonal speedo and reverse tach and large information cluster (see bmw M850)

They are not, they are the same as the base X3, they look digital but they are not.

Here is zoomed in look at the US Spec dash. Looks like the X3 base dash with a small digital screen at the botton

Not sure if you missed my sarcasm or if your actually being serious. Was joking as this new 3 series is a joke.

5.7in is probably referring to the multipurpose display at the bottom of the analog gauges.

They're not going to put the nice 5-series LCD gauges into the stripper 3.

Our new G20 has been ordered today! Expected delivery: end of March 2019!! It's a business lease on a budget so I couldn't go all out but I'm happy with the choices made. It's a 320d Sport Line in Mineral Grey with the Black Vernasca Leather interior with orange contrast stitching and style 775 17 inch alloys.
Would've gone with Blue Mountain Metallic colour until I saw the sample and it kind of turns green and was expecting it to look a lot lighter than it does...

Disclaimer: The renders show the full digital cluster but mine will not feature that (the configurator wouldn't allow me to spec active cruise control without the live cockpit pro but my dealer can).

I am not sure that is accurate for the new 3 based on the information provided. Would love to know if you have a bit more detail or direct experience with the base gauges. Do you see anything deeper in the ordering system around the standard gauges?

The image you shared looks just like the image if a customer selects digital gauges in the 4 series. The guages are digital but simulate the design of analog gauges in normal mode which BMW does a poor job of differentiating in the configuratpr. I do not trust the configurator images on topics like this. The order guide does not have an indication one way or another. The Base gauges for a 4 series for example which have analog dials with a digital screen below (as another poster noted) are not reffered to as digital gauges they are reffered to as "extended contents"

I cant find a live photo yet from an auto show of the base gauges but there are some floating around from mules and they have the gauges like the digial 4 series which have digital screens within the curves of the analog footprint but the tach and speedo themselves are fully digital.

Take out a ruler and measure 5.7" diagonal. Is that large enough for a digital instrument cluster?

It will most likely as Jay says, like this. Only that small portion is LCD.

Active cruise

I'm glad they got smart and decided to offer a wagon option.

When choosing M-Sport, why doesn't it state what that $5,000 gets you? I feel this was easier to figure out on the bmwusa.com site before. If not, can anyone direct me to something that specifies what is in that $5K M Sport package. I know what it entails but want the specifics.

When you select building an M-Sport Package, you can't get the convenience package? So, this car will not be equipped with Lumbar Support, Comfort Access Keyless Entry or Blind Spot Detection?

I see that if you select the Executive Package for $2100 it includes everything in the $900 Parking Assistance Package so that's okay.

The configurator doesn't expand what is in the $1700 Driving Assistance Professional Package. I guess it allows to add that.

All in all, are the extra safety features not allowed to be added when in M Sport?

Is the Track Handling Package worth it? I wouldn't track the car and thought the M Sport Brakes would be standard with the M Sport Package but guess it's still optional. Is the differential worth having in daily driving? I guess I just don't know enough about it if anyone can elaborate a few positives for having it on a daily driver not tracking it. Any thoughts or answers, please?

Thanks!
You can't get Convenience Package with M Sport because M Sport already includes Convenience Package.

"Track Handling Package" continues to be the worst-named option in recent history in my opinion. It's well worth getting for a daily driver because the adaptive suspension it comes with is much smoother and more comfortable than the standard suspension. I'm basing this off my experience with multiple F30s, all reports indicate the M Sport standard suspension is firmer / slightly more harsh in G20 than M Sport was with F30 so if you want a comfortable ride in Comfort mode, Track Handling is worthwhile.

The differential is nice to have on the 6 cylinder models, it helps improve traction when exiting corners and also makes the car easier to control when it does break loose and start to slide. Less important to have on the 4 cyl cars in my opinion BUT the 330i does have quite a lot of torque so who knows until we get to drive these things.

IIRC On the F30 the Track Handling Package also came with the fog light delete to allow more airflow to the extra heat exchangers in front. They also came with the M Sport Brakes, but they weren't exclusive to the ZTR option.

Correct, the F31 continues on for MY2019, not sure about MY2020. I'm debating if I should get a new G20/G30 or get one of the last Estoril Blue M Sport wagons.
