The car pictured in Sweden has different doors than the rest of the Gxx generation cars. Look at the character line. That car is waaaaay more attractive than the production g20.

Let's hope BMW recognizes the impending failure of the g20 and is already working on a redesign before releasing the M3. Let's hope they address that absurd grill at the same time.

hehe... I see those large ass stock exhaust muffler.[/QUOTE]

If one does not understand the purpose of forming the muffler that way, one has no business driving an M3.

Based on F30/F80 dimension ratio and deriving from G20 dimension, the approximate dimension on G80 should be as follow. It's definitely not expanding as fast as the universe!

Since there is a bigger jump on the front track between F30 and G20, G80 front track showed a bit wider than rear track (ratio calculation). If we use G20 track width reference, G80 rear track should be a bit wider than front similar to F80.

With the approximate 74.5" of width from G80, it's approaching Nissan GTR territory.

When are they going to fix that Horrible "Hanging like a turd out back" exhaust design and also the sound.....absolutely shit compared to the C63S.

The main reason I never bought a CS, recently, is just that the FART sounding exhaust bothers me so much along with that Exhaust showing its fugliness from the rear. Someone please develop an exhaust system for the F80 and upcoming M3 that sounds decent so I can buy one LOL...

Maybe, just maybe, the final version will also have a lower valance/apron around the back to help cover the muffler.
I too at first thought these flares/lips have to be a pre-production thing, but after seeing the Jaguar Project 8, and thinking about some of the current GT race cars, these "lips" might actually be a aerodynamic feature. I know they look weird, but I think they could actually serve a purpose.

Oh please enlighten those of us who have no business driving an M3 as to why this BMW Trademark Silver Diaper is purposeful?

After that, once you've safely climbed off of that tall ass horse you came in on, please further enlighten the plebs as to why that purpose would be defeated by doing a high temp black coating so that the ass at least looks like it's in adult pull ups not huggies.

*Edit* - I do hope you're on to something with the character lines on this test mule vs. the shown G20.

I openly wonder if the snarkiness about other's lack of understanding is the best choice for someone who does not understand how to use the multi-quote feature.

For that matter, is that sort of sass mouth really a good look for any self respecting enthusiast in a community forum, period?

Some things to contemplate.

JC Whitney called... they want the tacked-on rear fender flares back, with no restocking fee.

Yeah good luck with that. Other than Mercedes I'm yet to hear a good sounding turbo car. But hey at least the exhaust tips are real.
The new Carrera has fake ones integrated in the rear fender.

Pay $400. Have a local exhaust shop replace it with a borla muffler or similar. Move on with my life.

The last FXX car that I had that had that problem was my 2016 340i. My 2016 F80 M3 and 2018 M3 CS did not and do not have that problem.

I used to use a waterless car wash service, I think the noisy door seals started then.

There will be a pure and a base powered version? Am I the only one confused by that?

Edit: Ok, I get it now... the pure version is with manual transmission only. Interesting.
