The non m/m-sport packaged cars look boring...
Blue M sport looks good. I think the exhaust pipes look a little "soft". Tails are whatever to me... Alot of cars are looking similar nowadays with the progression of these futuristic looks and all that (Im a lazy shit; dont feel like wording that statement any better). Interior looks spiffy. I do dig the previous lineup better, (Fxx) as they look more aggressive in the front.

Can someone make direct compare G20 vs IS350? On the street of course. We don't have IS350 in Europe (maybe 6 in the whole Europe). I've looked on internet and there is no similarities.

Call me blind It may not be revolutionary, but I think it looks good, and has a lot of new stuff. I saw the G20 in person and it has a sporty look, and I'm eager to drive one.

The real point is, a BMW shouldn't resemble a Lexus...change that, and we can all stop reading posts about it!

P.S. The new one, despite having some Lexus design elements, will absolutely be "better" than the old one.
Yeah, you've got a point about hearing it multiple times. I'm not saying I don't see where people get the resemblance either, but the first pictures have been out for months. And I wouldn't go as far as to say they're "Lexus design elements", but rather redesigned/evolved BMW design elements that some people see more Lexus into than they probably should.

Funny exercise: go to BMW's Facebook page and scroll through their latest posts. I swear the exact same pictures memeing the new kidneys of the 7/X7 are under every one of them, even those where no grille is visible or the model is not related to the "meme". Gets old fast with all the people hopping on the train hoping for their 15 minutes of fame.

On the gas station part, I wouldn't really care to be honest, at max I'd laugh and/or say thank you. I also doubt many people would have that reaction to the car in the metal though, but who knows. Any Lexus owners reading please report in how many times you've been asked how you already have a G20. 🤔 I'm guessing it'd be a low number.

Seemed to happen when Subaru began collaborating with Toyota on the 86 / BRZ - the Gen 5 Legacy looked a lot more like a Camry than previous generations, particularly vs the gen 3 and gen 4.

Still - asides from the hockey stick element of the tail lights, which do look like the current GS, it doesn't look much like a Lexus, any more than a lot of designs from different manufacturers are starting to look similar through having to place sensors on specific angles, at specific heights etc. The proportions are much better than the IS in typical BMW tradition, and the front end on an IS350 is pretty hideous. The previous generation of the IS was a lot better looking. The interior in the IS is also pretty naff.

Yeah totally, I bet it'll repeat the E90 LCI where they de-uglify the tail lights.

Thanks! Enjoy the read, it may be lengthy but hopefully you dig my writing style and it goes quickly.

After going through all the comments, it's like 80:20 hate:love. That's insane. I love the looks.

It's such a weird cycle with the 3. It comes out. People hate it. Somewhere around halfway through it's lifecycle, people start to love it as they prepare the hate bomb for the new one.

The E46 was the best, then the E90, etc. blah blah blah. if BMW listened to some people they'd still be making the E30.

Haha I thought I was the only one that saw that. It looks like a Lexus from the back.

The interior design is a huge improvement - maybe not the digital dash, but everything else looks good.

The exterior (even with the M Sports design) looks off. The model is trying to be something it is not.

I know many don't like the front because of the grill and the headlights as they don't look like BMW to them. And while I agree to some point, I actually think the front looks good.

But I just hate the rear, especially these japanese and boring looking taillights. And the problem is, they use this design on almost all new models.

That would definitely look better. The grey parts look so 90s and cheap aftermarket style.

Lot of forum police in the 3 threads. I thought the F90 forum was bad, lol,

This car is a big letdown and is in fact not attractive. The M sport version is a huge improvement but still…

The point is people want to look at a new design and be blown away. I am not sure who could be blown away by this design it just really isn't that good and it certainly isn't good to the point of being exciting.

The interior looks to be a huge upgrade and maybe it feels amazing to drive it probably does if my F90 is any gauge of where BMW is going. But that doesn't make up for the exterior, which is to me, ho hum at best.

Yep, that photo is taken from a very unflattering angle.
The low crease, which turns upwards on the rear door, looks utterly sh*t to my eyes and the 'squared off' vertical edge to the rear bumper is pure Audi. The hockey stick inserts are awful.
Disappointing design. It'll have to drive really well for me to part with my ££

I was afraid that Toyota was gonna rub off on BMW with that Z4 monstrosity. My fears have been realized.

It really is just plain bad. This will be the 1st time in 16 years that my wife and I don't have a 3 series in the stable when her F30 340 ///M Sport goes back this summer.

This will be the 1st time in many years that we look beyond BMW for my wife's next car. Something is wrong In Munich.
