Why the fack do they design cars without license plate in mind?
They treat it like it's optional |

But as I spent more time with the 4 I came to accept its intentions and its dramatic appearance. I said previously this is 85% of the actual production car but the more enhanced areas such as the Areodynamics are less enhanced that they resemble snow shovels. They are really going for a more sportier angle and certainly the outline gives that away. The Cabrio, Gran Coupe and i4 are equally stunning. The 4 has presence and certainly you won't mistake it for anything else. If we play around with the proportions you can see how well the 2er will fit in. There are a lot of elements showcased with the 4 that blend well with a smaller footprint.

Paper. Bag. Job. We'd surely all like to ride it but not be caught nor seen doing so. Our hearts probably all dropped or skipped a beat when we saw this thing...
Great on them showing red. Maybe their plan here is to clear out the remaining parts and cars of the F82 model? If so, touché BMW, you've succeeded! We'd all like to think that this was your play all the way.. I'll go cry now.

Appreciate your honesty Scott!
With a beautiful design though, you shouldnt have to grow to accept it, this still makes no sense. BUT, im happy with you last statement and perhaps there is a little hope for bmw, smaller is always better in this case!!!!!! |

I personally love the side, rear but the front is just to much to digest.
Can't own this car, if the G80 comes with this size grill I am DEFINITELY not getting it. Just came from work and 26pages? I will read this book later. Lol |

I have not liked the new large grill design language on any car BMW has recently released. 7, 8, Z4, 3 series all look horrendous to me. I saw the refreshed 7 series on the road a few days ago and it literally looked like a whale filtering plankton. I don't know what has gotten into BMW but I cannot stand there HUGE grills! Oh, and the rear-ends are getting too busy as well (Z4, 3 and 8 series). Honestly, I am just not a fan of the direction BMW has been going with their designs. I am sure the new cars will out perform the old ones but the designs simply suck!

Keep coming back hoping to like it, still can't see any way I ever like this.
and the photoshop with the 8 series grill makes me sad because its sooo much better. Oh well. Maybe production version won't cause me the same angst. or maybe its time for a well needed break from BMW. |

It's certainly more concept than the previous 4 series concept, which was 99% production when revealed with only rear bumper and lower front chrome details + mirrors changed for production.
My guess is it'll lose the deeply slashed lower swage line, the sharp rear end treatment and those lights will go to be replaced with units similar to the G20 3er, front lower air intake section will be smaller and nowhere near as low and again the design will be smoother and less sharp and of course some normal wing mirrors. The grille design will be reduced to fit with the smaller front end treatment.

We vote NO
Just surveyed our 26 member BMW group of owners here.
The official poll is: Like it: 0 Could live with it: 1 HATE IT: 25. If you add my wife, that makes 26 "HATE ITs" BMW, wake up! This is not the X7 SUV, and it's not designed for the Chinese market. It's got to work in the states. |

Really getting fed up with BMW trying to disgust its customers with these monstrosity grills.
They should have fired Adrian with the 7 serie LCI (for me already long before actually) but now he's allowed to corrupt the 4 series also. And we already know, systematically the proto is top and the production is flop. So brace yourself when the proto is already flop. |

I'm definitely not a fan (yet) of the front end of the upcoming 4er, but I like the rest of the package enough that I am 95%+ certain that I will be putting in an order for the 2021 M440xi ragtop, mineral grey.
