And just like that, my connected drive refuses to Climatize my car. I wish it would. Especially when it's freezing cold here. Wonder what the issue could be when it was working properly all this while (for a little over a month). It was working perfectly fine till yesterday when it refused to. Got a warning message saying this isn't possible because battery charge was low. Phone had only around 12% charge so I assumed that was it. Now, fully charged phone and same issue.
Also, I've noticed they the connected drive in the idrive (under apps) never shows any info at all. It keeps asking me to log in via my connected drive on my phone. Even when I do, nothing happens on the idrive app. I wonder how that works. Last edited by VipinLJ; 12-18-2019 at 07:59 AM.. |

My car went into dealer 2 days ago for an unrelated service issue, and while it was there I asked them to diagnose/fix this and (hopefully) update my iDrive in the process. After 2 days they said they still hadn't gotten approval back from BMW to update the software, so I picked up the car this afternoon. Apparently the software upgrade takes enough time to where they won't do it unless they can bill BMW for the labor. They said they'd keep the case open and let me know when it's approved for programming. My service advisor confirmed what I've read in other threads here, that updating the software takes several hours, and fails frequently, making you start all over. This boggles my mind. Windows 95 install via 12 floppy disks anyone? |

Annnnnnnd. My CD is working again. Remote start via the app didn’t work for two days. And then third day bam. It was back to normal again. Even when remote start didn’t work, the app was connected to the car and stuff. Just that remote start kept failing. It worked via the button on the keyfob though.

I'm lowkey avoiding upgrading my software even if dealer will allow me to since my app is broken. I don't want new issues or bugs they possibly overlooked upon releasing latest software, what if it makes something else break?
Only thing not working is the connected drive app, hopefully they come with a fix since I'm stuck at last working on 10/20 still. |

I'm sure it's not in-house, but whomever is doing BMW's app for them needs to be fired. Like, yesterday.
CD out for one of my vehicles, but not the other. One vehicle is easily reached, pings perfectly, but the new 2020 M340i, BMWs 'tech' showpiece car, hasn't updated itself since 12/13. And yes, I've reset idrive, deleted CD, reinstalled, etc. I'm on 11/2019.55. Nothing is working. I'm just not driving the M340 until BMW has their shit together. Thankfully, the M5 works exactly as advertised. |

FWIW, I'm on 11/2019.40. Same month software as you, but a lower version number. Perhaps bring it in to a dealer to see if they could refresh the software? BMW of Dallas did mine and in my paperwork they said it matches symptoms of a current SIB (TSB).
