Exclamation M340i Interior Rattle w/ Hard Acceleration?!

Hi Folks,

I purchased my M340i back in June of 2019 and my initial impressions are mostly positive. I'm happy with the drive, feel, and overall construct of the car, but I do have a major concern.

About 1 month ago, I began to notice a rattle/vibration sound, (predominantly when I'm in Sport) when I accelerate between 2nd-3rd gear, sometimes 3rd-4th gear, and rarely between 4th and 5th. It sounds like it is either coming from the iDrive screen or the mesh trim that's on the center of the dash.

Frankly, it's very annoying, as I'm sure you can imagine and I almost always drive the car in Sport.

I've removed all items from by cup holder, center console - everything cleared, and I still get this incessant rattle/vibration.

Has anyone else experienced this, if so, what's the remedy here?

I recently had a brand new 2020 M340i as a loaner for 10 days while my dealership was retrofitting my 2017 340i Msport with the m performance suspension. I was very impressed with the out-of-the-box acceleration and handling that comes with the 382hp, 30% stiffer body rigidity and the stock LSD. I however was not very happy about extraneous rattles seemingly coming from various body panels around the doors and the dash area, My 340i seems to have a better interior fit and finish. BTW in case anyone is listening my 340i has: mppsk, m performance brakes, m performance suspension, Dinan cold air intake, rear diffuser, m performance carbon fiber rear deck spoiler and carbon fiber mirror caps. If I had known the M340 xdrive was coming I would have suffered with my ailing 2007 335i and waited for it lol! In all seriousness my 340i with all of the goodies is just as fast as the M340i but cannot touch it in regard to handling and balance. The 30% stiffer body rigidity and the LSD make all of the difference on the M340i when it comes to driving on the wire, which I do every day of the week lol!
