Perhaps it was a glitch in the matrix, and you were looking at yourself.

I am in SW Broward and commute to Doral daily for work. I have seen just two other in Pines and they were white as well. Another reason I regret getting white lol. Lot's of 330i's though but mostly non M Sport versions. I know there are but I guess I just haven't come across them. My car came from TX last August and at the time, two M340i's arrived on the trailer. Mine and another gentleman in SW Broward took our deliveries that day.

This has always been the case. In the E90 generation the 325/328 was the most common; F30 the 320 and 3328/30, and in the G20 it will be the 330.
Very few people opt for the more powerful, more expensive engine variants.

I saw a white one in Delaware one day and a black one in OH one day. Have not seen one in Pittsburgh yet. Although the dealer said they sold many.

I haven’t seen any driving so far. I have only seen two that were parked, a Portimao Blue and a Tanzanite Blue.
While I do see a ton of Model 3’s, I’ve only seen one Performance model. |

Really? I'm in South Jersey and I see several weekly... two different black ones and a white one. But we also live in a town with a BMW dealer so that probably helps increase the chances of a sighting. However, I do agree that I see way more Model 3s on the road than G20 3 series of any flavor.

335 and 340i have always been pretty rare. Around here I see tons of the new X3 and very few of the new 3 series despite the good sales from the new 3 series. I've only seen a few on the road period regardless of trim and I don't yet recall seeing M340i in the wild around here. Kind of surprised there's a lot of folks with P cars and AMG cars in my neighborhood along with a plethora of BMW products, two M4s, half a dozen X5s, an X5M and 4 X3s just in our small area of the neighborhood. No G20s yet though...certainly no M340i.

After seeing this thread, I started paying attention.
I have seen several 330s but no M340's in Seattle area. I got my car in Sep. Folks just prefer crossovers and SUVs these days. I have been seeing tons of SQ5s and X3 M4.0is on the road.

Same here, I'm in Burbank, CA and I see a lot of 330i's and majority are x3/x5's out in my neck of the woods. I've only seen 1 m340 running around my town.

The 6 cylinders are just very rare. I live in the greater Memphis area..in Collierville...I had a 2016 340i X-Drive and in 3 years of driving never saw another 340i!! Plenty of 328 and 330is. Now we have an X3 M40i and an AMG C43 sedan...got both in September. In 4 months of driving I have yet to see another X3 M40i or another C43. Plenty of X3 3.0is and many C300s...but ZERO M40is or C43s.

In the past year I've only seen about two 340i's and not too many 330's. What I do see everywhere is X3's. 30i's and even a good amount of 40i's, no M's yet though, and even more X5's than 3-series. BMW SUV's are hot on the market right now!
Model 3's are everywhere but I believe that is because they have a broad appeal. Check out Bloomberg's survey and the top trade-ins range from Prius' to the 3-series and A4, as well as Accord's, Civic's, Mazda3's etc. They just have a broad range of buyers from the eco-conscious, the everyday commuter crowd as well as the typical luxury buyer. Also there really is no competition for the Model 3 in a sense. Want a compact electric sedan, Model 3 is pretty much the one to get. Want a compact luxury sports sedan? There's choices form the Germans, Japanese, Americans, Brits and even Koreans.
