That is what I was thinking. The grill separation is the differentiation we have been hearing about between the M3 and M4 front fascia. Or the M grill separation is on both M3/M4 and is simply the differentiation from the base model. Either way expecting even larger grills on M versions.

I’m far from sure on it, but I can’t say I hate it until I see it properly.
I wish they would stop with these terrible grille patterns, I don’t care if it’s active or whatever. Just put horizontal or vertical slats.

While much of the car is covered (agrees with another member, should of have taken off the cover completely, just few more seconds!), the design is exciting, agressive and in you face, AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALONG TIME AGO.
If you look at most of the BMW line up today (prior the face lifted 7 Series arrival), the various model series look way TOO SIMILAR and TOO CONSERVATIVE in design. The face-lifted 7 series has done a great job revamping the exterior (interior wise we need to wait for the next generation in 2022) The new 3 series is not bad either inside & out compared to the F-30 it is an improvement in all around (minus the slightly Lexus rear looking tail lights). This new 4 series will sell and BMW should not go back to its mundane, conservative style and design language and should not apologize for this at all. BMW, GREAT JOB! |

Yes, it's a regular M Sport (430i, 430d...), even though it has the M Performance style dotted line grille, which seems to be standard here (no vertical slat grille at all). Just like the latest Z4.

If they're gonna force these huge grills on the car, the least they could do is design a proper hood-line!
