Did you notice any changes in the exhaust (pops and burbles)? I know it's pretty much a known that this only affects European software upgrades, I'm still nervous about it lol

Your sales guy and service dept seem incompetently clueless. I wouldn't feel comfortable getting my car serviced there if they can't keep track of basic service bulletins. I would find a new service center...
The camera software was one of the items that was being worked on when I brought my car in for service. However, when I asked, I was told it was a separate update from that of iDrive. I clearly got someone that didn't know what he was talking about...

There hasn't been any noticeable change and I've driven about 50m since getting my car back. Seems the same.

Yes and no.

The camera software fix is a full iStep upgrade. I.E. Reprogram of vehicle modules with newer iStep. Yes, this includes iDrive.

IDrive update, dealer staff may be thinking about remote software update. This type of updating appears to upgrade only certain modules, such as iDrive, Telematics, KOMBI, Driver Assist functions....

I suppose it's worth mentioning that since taking my car back, the 'emissions deteriorating light' has come on. Not sure if this is a symptom of the software update or something else...

Could be software bug. Also could be other issue such as something dealer worked on during your service visit or a coincidental failure.

I have a 2019 BMW 330i xDrive with the BMW Parking Assistant, which I believe would qualify for the camera recall.

However, when I enter my VIN on the BMW or other recall websites, it shows the car is not eligible for a recall.

Am I missing something??

I received a letter in the mail from BMW. I didn't take it with me to the dealership, but they were able to look up the recalls for my vehicle and came across the camera issue.

Not sure if impacts your car...I've got a 2020 M340i.

On a new build, when the car arrives at dealer do they deliver the car with the most current OTA update(s) on the software? And- if there were/are any recent recalls do they take care of it before delivery? Typically. Thanks.

If you're buying a new car, dealers are required to update the software (to address the camera recall) prior to delivery.

Other than a recall, no, dealers do not update software before delivery. OTA updates come whenever BMWNA releases them and those are delivered direct through the customer to the vehicle. To date only 1 update has been released. It's rumored a second update is forthcoming. When, is anyone's guess.

Was your car in for service recently? After October 2019? Maybe dealer updated software then to address camera issue.

Go into iDrive and check your current software version. Report here.

That was it - car was in for service in early November and had the software updated to 07/2019.47.

Got an OTA map update a few on Friday. Just came up as a popup saying it was available and prompted me to restart the navigation.

111031.852.3.02, D19W31.3-1
CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA,

Still on iDrive version 07/2019.55 though with no signs of an OTA update.

Any sightings of what I assume will be the next major software update.... 03.2020? Or does anyone know approximately when during March they will release it? I have to bring my car in for service and want to schedule it when I can request the current update be installed during the visit.
