YES! The Hood-line is atrocious. I actually had hope BMW was getting rid of it until the Z4 came out and now these leaks, its really disappointing and ugly.

Yes. For me, the hood line ruins the front even more that the kidneys.
I don't get it, why can't they just keep the hood from the concept? Pedestrian safety issue?

I don't understand it either, it looks like the top of the grill is as high as the 7 or 3. I just think its BMW being cheap rather than designing car correctly.

I definitely don't like the giant grille, but something as simple as making the separation of the kidneys at the top less prominent results in a far less hideous design. To me at least.

You really think that we are all unable to have our own tastes, tastes dictated by our personality and not by a primitive desire to follow and fit with the others? Many people here are car enthusiasts, not basic customers that will buy the same ´BMW’ than their neighbour even if it looks like a weird mix of Lexus and Audi.

Do you think that the 911 would still be considered so highly by car enthusiasts if it had lost its design identity?

I would prefer to keep my m2 forever than to buy a so-called BMW that looks like that...

These typical mobile phone wide-angle shots make little sense to evaluate a design. Nevertheless, I wonder what kind of image this big mouth design should convey. "Look, I'm really a big guy, a dangerous big guy and now get out of my way" ?

The jagged style of the side air intakes with the many lines and grilles also confuses more than it fascinates the eye.

The new style of the taillight design with these ugly, large, dirty-gray areas also has nothing of the elegance of the current M4 taillights.

So just for design reasons, I would hardly buy this car. Meanwhile, I like the simple Tesla design more and more. Unexpected this is...

I drove a 330i as a loaner this week. 2020 model. Coming from my daily driver 2018 430, the car drives "tall" certainly not as road hugging as the 4 series. The sporty feel just is not there; albeit a nice ride .

Don't think I can go back to a 3 series if the new 4 does not satisfy my needs when looking at this grill. My options would be slim after that based on budget so seriously consider another brand. I hope the end product looks decent, as the look of the car starting at the front needs to be spot on.

Options are pretty much crucial to how the G20 drives, its a similar situation to the F30. You will not get the BMW driving experience standard anymore. For the G20 M-Sport and Track Handling Packages pretty much are necessary, and most loaners don't have either.

People are overreacting again as they tend to do. I'll reserve final judgement until I've seen the entire production car, but if it looks close to the concept I'll be ordering one as soon as I can.

If I didn't know that was a BMW concept, I'd be certain that was a Lexus. Also, BMW will never offer a shade of red that nice outside if Individual.

Previous "concepts" for the last generation:

4-Series "Concept"

M4 "Concept"

The final car is going to look 95% like the red car above. Can't wait.

The previous 4 concepts are more realistic though due to having actual production spec mirrors, hood-line, headlights, tail lights, etc. They are pretty much prototype/production spec.

For the current 4 concept, a lot of aspects wouldn't make it to production, like the mirrors, headlights, low hood/hood-line. More like 80% if you ask me, but should look similar but not as good.
