My 2020 Dravit Grey M340i xDrive
Hey guys been lurking around the forum for a bit looking at some of your beautiful cars. This is my first BMW and I'm really enjoying the car. Most of my friends have or had bimers and I have driven many different M cars in many different specs. The m340 although not a true M, is a superb daily driver and handles NYC streets without a problem.
My build is Drevit grey with Oyster interior. I love the combo but holy S**t is it a lot of maintenance. I'll post some pics and will have more to come once I find a decent front lip and spoiler to put in, also have CB mirror caps on order as well as IND side markers replacements for the amber once. |

Whoa just noticed that as well. Did someone go over the car with a dirty rag?? Tons of swirls.

You can do 1 of 3 things - mobile detailer ($$$), buy a water tank/pump (sold on amazon for ~$100) and wash car yourself ($$), or go to a DIY wash center ($). I feel the 3rd option seems to be best bang for buck for us drivewayless folk. You need to take your own soaps and gear to wash/dry. Depending how detailed you want to get, back of the envelope, the initial cost will pay off in ~4-7 washes (@ $50 / wash). Don't recommend using anything but the pressure washer / air dryer at the location. Get your own gear for everything else. Obviously... there is a perfect inverse correlation between cost and effort |

I think the best route for you would be to do the self wash stall with just soap and the pressure washer and then do a water-less wash. All you need is a few MF towels and those little hand pump aerators. I ordered the Kit from AMMO. The bottle is not the best but its good. The soap though is very good and super slick.
There are other options but thats the only one I've tried. If you're not washing it often I would def get a ceramic coating done on it. Doesn't have to be uber expensive, but it will help a lot when rinsing the car.
