It says you have to drive for at least 6 miles before it is active in the instruction manual, so keep that in mind.

Im pretty sure that one time, I drove around for atleast 10 miles or so and still no LC. I’ll have to try one more time to make sure. 6 miles seem way too much btw. In my Audi, we had to wait till the car reached operating temperature which was in a few minutes.

My G20 330i with stock suspension has Sport Plus, I press Sport button and then choose either Standart Sport or Individual or Sport Plus with idrive controller, the selected one then becomes default whenever sport is pressed. I ordered car with sport transmission option where you get manual padde shifters on the wheel. In sport plus car feels more jumpy and engine is kept on higher revs than with normal sport, traction control is not disabled just reduced.

My two cents: if you search for the functionality on the vehicle onboard manual (inside the car dashboard, or for recent models on the owners manual app as well), and you find it, then your car has that feature.
About the launch control it seems that if your car is equipped with a sport automatic transmission then you have the launch control |

Apparently it's only North American 330is that don't have sport+? Not sure about the M340i. I assume it has sport+

Sport plus holds gear and doesn’t auto up shift while hitting the rev limiter. Also keep the trans in manual mode indefinetly. Normal sport mode goes back to auto after not using the paddle shifters for a while. Also the traction control is a bit more loose. |

If you haven’t coded it in, you must. One of the best changes I made to my car was coding sport+.

So I’m in the US and my 21 Msport 330i didn’t come with Sport+ of course. I assumed I still had launch control since my bmw assistant will pull up the instructions on how to do it if I ask her but I just attempted to do it multiple times with no success.
My car is at like 1800 miles so not the break in period and the car was warmed up to normal running temps. Anyone in the US have success using launch control without Sport + coded in? |

6 miles isn't important. I've done it after driving for a couple of miles. As long as the engine is warm and oil temp is above 165F (iirc), you'll be fine

I press the DSC button once, switch the car into M/S mode, put my left foot and press the brake peddle as far down as I can and finally fully press down the gas peddle with my right foot. The car revs but no sign of the flag nor any sign of a launch control message. |
