MPE + VRSF catted dp + exhaust flap mod

Might as well jump on all the exhaust threads. Ordered the car with MPE and took delivery last November, did the exhaust flap mod earlier this year and no lights or issues. Yesterday I finally installed a VRSF catted dp. What an awesome difference. Car has not been dyno'd or tracked so I don't have any quantitative info to post. Will take/post a video later today.

I went with the catted version bc I'm undecided on which tune to get and frankly I didn't want it "really" loud. The install was pretty easy and straight forward. Remove the air box, 1 v-band clamp, 1 mid-pipe clamp and 2 nuts. Took a couple hours max. I had to let the car cool down completely to get the V-band clamp off and I did have to use a pipe expander (borrowed from auto parts store) to get the dp to slide into the mid-pipe. The only gotcha was a clip above the 2 main bracket nuts that I didn't notice. Once I pried it up with a screwdriver the dp came right out. Plenty of room even with the O2 sensors installed.

I have been debating on purchasing VRSF catted DP for awhile. I was little apprehensive because of the fitment. Could you comment on fitment?

cant wait for videos later. I also have a MPE on my m340i

zero issues with fitment other than opening up the mid-pipe about 1/16". hang it from the bracket, slide it into the mid-pipe, bolted the mid-pipe back up (one nut) and the v-band went on no problem. I started it up while still on the ramps to do a leak check and it's good. couldn't be more satisfied so far. I wanted to ceramic coat it first but I couldn't wait so oh well.

bought it from extreme power house. slight back order but they sent me weekly email updates.

I'll give it a shot today. BTW, do I need to accumulate a certain number of posts before being able to post links? Looking for suggestions to share the audio.

No you can embed the video in a post without having to link it

Here is the link. It sounds like it could be a great setup, but you only posted a video of startup/idle...

I'm sure a lot of people here would want to hear revs in different driving modes.

haha. gotcha.

shouldn't be happening but there is no guarantee. maybe I need to just get a tune too and make it go away or try to space the O2 sensor out.

Disappointing to hear you got the CEL. Active Autowerke appears to guarantee no CEL on their DP but it's like 900$... is it worth it, and does anyone have it and can vouch for this? Or just get catless version with tune and call it a day?

With catless DownPipe at low revs a ringing may occur (resonance from the exhaust). I would like to know from the author. With this combination DownPipe 200Cell + MPE Muffler, is there any resonance?

If your car is flash tuned, it will take care of the CEL. If your car is stock or uses a piggyback then Active Autowerke downpipe is certainly worth it.

I can vouch for it as we have many customers using it without a single issue reported

no resonance or drone. if this combo didn't throw a CEL it would be the perfect setup IMO. we don't have emission here so I can't speak to that.

The only thing I don't like is the cold start. Def getting that deleted with a tune.

I've been planning to get a tune...just wanted to wait a few more months/miles before doing it. Now I'm trying to figure out if I go with mission performance or someone local in Tampa/Orlando. Mailing my ECU to California isn't really doable unless I take some time off work.
