330e 20" fitting guide
Hi!
I'm looking at fitting Borbet BY 20" rims on my G20 330e and I'm trying to find a good fit. I saw the Borbet rims first in a previous post on Bimmerpost by @joca and thought they might be a cheaper alternative than the M795 rims. Post: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1596409 But I haven't been able to get an answer on what specs he has on the rims. I'm looking at: Front: 8x20 5x112 ET25 Back: 9x20 5x112 ET45 Do you guys think this is a good fit or do you have any suggestions or input? Thank you! |

I agree, I think they look great! I don't believe they make them in 10.0x20 either. But for me I'm happy with 9.0x20 in the rear I believe the specs I wrote should be a good fit (but not if you want wider back rims, of course).

You sure? I guess it all depends on if the rim should poke out or be closer to the suspension. I have no idea hos close it is to the suspension with stock rims. Here's pictures of the difference from stock rim to between ET35 (left picture) and ET45 (right picture). But if I get ET45 I guess I could always put on spacers if needed.

9jx20 ET45 will be inside wheel arch. For my taste when wheel stands flush with the arch. And I don't like spacers. In my opinion spacers are not safe.

I'm looking forward to seeing them on! It wasn't the Borbets in the link in my first post you're talking about? Yeah, fat back tires looks great. But it's a company car so it just felt better with a more "standard" size in my case.

Not yet, still waiting on them. The latest information I got from the reseller was the 12th of March saying they're waiting on a more exact shipping time for the back rims (9x20 ET35). No further update so far I'm afraid. But I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I get any information!

Top pro sports car race teams run wheel spacers, sometimes > 25 mm thick, in 24 hour endurance races. So I’m curious to know why do you consider them unsafe?

Update: Rear rims (9x20 ET35 5x112) are backordered at least 6 weeks from now according to reseller who spoke to Borbet. So I guess we'll be waiting for a while longer to see them on
