Mr Dirk Hacker who is in this video is an outstanding person and means well. I had the honor of Mr Hacker as my instructor for 2 days of Ring training and he is a highly regarded engineer within BMW AG and M. Enough of the nonsense.

Ya I agree but the market doesn't see it this way. For example, just look at how mod-centric this and other BMW boards are. It's all about MOARR POWAA!

Seems like a lot of people only judge the video based on entertainment value...

If the video is not entertaining and have lots of sideways action it must be wothless...

You guys miss out on the very interesting information and insight into the specs and philosophy behind the new generation.

"King of the Autobahn" is the purpose behind the M5.

It was never meant to be track-centric.

I mean, maybe if he had shown some type of emotion or told us an exciting fact, he'd be getting less flak. He could have just said "Hey we're doing the final tuning of the new M3 and M4' instead of to me what felt like rambling for the sake of rambling.

As an engineer, you're suppose to be excited about what you've created. The dude didn't even crack a smile.

I agree, at a certain point, you get to a point of too much horsepower (yeah I said it.) where it just becomes a number when most of these cars are drive on public streets/roads. While I'm amazed at what cars like the M5, X5 M, X6 M can do given their size and weight, give me a car with anywhere from 250-300HP with a well tuned chassis and I'll be happy.

Agree, I think AMG started this horsepower war and honestly its gone so far that the power is just unusable. While the first few times of doing launch control is fun, I care more about how a car feels on a backroad. There's a reason why vehicles like the Miata and BRZ just bring so much joy despite the low horsepower outputs.

I know, that's why I said its a bit sad the amount of people that prioritize 0-60 above all else. Electric cars only made things worse, everyone is chasing power instead of feedback and engagement. When I see posts about people claiming 4 second cars to be slow it just sounds so ridiculous.

Surprisingly, the melting continues. Seems most here forgot that the M in BMW stands for Motor, as in engine. It's not called BDW - Bayerische Design Werke.

This car is hated for it's looks by ppl that apparently couldn't give two hoots for the engineering and technical prowess.

Some soul searching is advised. Seriously!

Well they keep giving us these pointless videos which although meant to obviously get us all excited actually just tell us nothing and make us more frustrated.

The guy didn’t even seem excited about his own product.

It always amazes me how most judge a car by the 0-100 stats, rather than just the whole driving experience, whether it's road or track.
The truth of the matter being that 99% will be daily driving.
