Nav stopped working

Ever since my car got the recent software update my nav hasn't worked. I get a screen that says "starting navigation system" but it never loads.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there a quick fix or should I call the dealer?

Hold down the power button for 20 seconds and let the iDrive restart. Might fix it.

By "power button" do you mean the power/volume knob for the audio or the stop/start button?

The knob for the volume on/off, try holding it down for 70 seconds, seems to be more successful.

When my wifes car was delivered it did this. Dealer tried uploading something via USB (think it was a license key), but in the end had to hook it up to the computer in the workshop.

Unfortunately, you have to bring it back to the dealer. There was a glitch in the update software that caused the release code for the maps to not transfer. They just have to release the map back to the headunit. It's quick but it's something they should've checked before giving you the car back.
