Who has the quickest G20 330i on Bimmerpost?
Im just super curious on this. I have no mods on my 330. I feel its fairly fast for a 4 cylinder for sure but idk if it cuts it. I feel they may have underpowered it alot to make room for m340 m3 buyers for sure. Its not slouch but I notice how much more power it could have from my previous bmws.
I feel like I do good playing in traffic with other cars but it could be much more playful. So Curious to know if anybody has any mods or most power one has gotten out of the 330. Sometimes i feel I should've gotten the m340 Just now days you don't need that much power to have fun but I feel I bottom out fairly quick when playing with other cars lol. Cheers |

Realistically you can get similar hp as an M340i with a full tuning kit (engine map, intercooler, intake, downpipe, new turbo). But it's probably cheaper to just sell the 330i and get an M340i instead.
In the mean time get a good remap, that will give it a healthy hp boost for 1k only. |

From what I heared the B48/58 are really easy to tune. There are a few of 1000hp Supra Mk5 on the road. Even just a remap on the 30i should give you over 300hp easy. |

Dynos have already shown that crank hp for the M340i is over 400hp not the advertised 382.

Anyway, I have to comment here: I've had an M340i for about 7 months now, and drove a loaner 330i for a few days recently. Gotta say, I was really impressed. That ~300 lb of torque really comes online very early, and I couldn't believe how responsive the throttle was, never left wanting for power even at freeway speeds. In all honesty, it felt (and I may catch some flak for this) as smooth and immediate as my 2016 535i M Sport.

I just feel like the new 340 blows the 330 out the box by a long shot. Makes me feel like I'm standing still lol. But al land all the g20 330 is a great car and most the time I feel it has way more then I'll ever need. Until I come face to face with a 340 or 335 or something was some decent power and I'm left in the dust and don't even feel like I put up a fight which is what gets to me. |

330i, 430i of the prior F series generation with a B48 is capable of sub 4.5 with launch xdrive and are around 330-340bhp with stage 2, fbo.
The newer G series both for the 4/3 I would bet can handle 350bhp with the slightly bigger turbo and higher factory tune with FBO stage 2 e30. |

I'm surprised no one with a G20 330i has a dragy yet. I'd love to see some numbers! Can't wait till I get mine on tuesday.

Got my dragy today. Did only one run because of lack of time. Only mod is a JB4 on map 3 and E30 (or less, since I haven't actually measured the ethanol content of E85 at the pump here) fuel.

Awesome results!!! is this 8AT or 6MT and tires? I xHP stage 3'd my 8AT a few days ago and it feels like a poor man's DCT. Last edited by Avaley; 09-15-2020 at 06:22 PM.. |

And yes. I'll be doing more to this car hopefully even though it's a lease. I might even buy it out at the end of the lease if I'm happy with how the car turns out. Car is an xDrive with 8AT. Running OEM all season RFTs (Pirelli P7 Cinturato) 225/45R18 with treads at 5/32. I also spoke to xHP last week and they said they're working on a transmission tune for the G20 330i. Can't wait for them to launch it!

After i trans flashed, traction is starting to be noticeably worse. It wasn't an issue with just the stage 1 ECU flash...I'm not even going to think about adding boost to launch control (which is an awesome option ) until I get some performance non RFTs. Pretty silly that the newer ones have had so much restrictions in OEM software but I guess that comes with digitization.... |
