Pretty silly that the newer ones have had so much restrictions in OEM software but I guess that comes with digitization....
Yup. These tires wear down fast too. When it was new, they used to grip perfectly even when there were some stones or sand on the road. Today when I launched, I swear I heard the tires chirp a bit before gripping properly. I've never heard any of my AWD cars chirp when launching.

So you're saying stock was better with the ECU flash? Or that was the case for stage 1 ECU tune only? Sorry I'm a noob, especially when it comes to TCU tuning.

Tires were fine with just stage 1, once I added tcu tuning the tires started really showing their weakness as run flat all seasons during launches as xHP tweaked the LC, and sport+ with s gear after stage 3 trans flash I notice my rear end drifting much more than stage 1 ecu only accelerating through corners. OEM tires will really struggle with a stage 2 ecu flash.

I was also referring to the issues with ecu flashing that some of the newer G20s had restrictive dealer software bricking their cars when ECU flashing.

Ahhh yes. That makes sense. I’m actually thinking of getting new tires and storing the OEM RFTs to put back on when my lease is up.

And yes. My car was bricked when I tried flashing it with BM3 back in December. My car had the updated DME software but no one knew for sure back then if BMW was doing updates. Also, there was no one unlocking these DMEs then. I had no other option but to return it and get a JB+ instead. I wonder what times BM3 tunes G20s are getting.

Did a run today on an uneven road. Car was in comfort mode, shifter in D. All electrical nannies on. No brake boosting. Just WOT from a standstill.
Looking at the speed/acceleration graph, you can see the change when the extra boost comes into play.

5.7 seems slow for a tuned 330, even in comfort mode. Stock is supposed to be 5.2 with xDrive. Your 4.7 run seems more in line with what I would expect

5.7 was just flooring it from a standstill. No launch control. Traction control etc was on. When it was stock, my 330i did the 0-60 in 6.xs, sometimes even more, under the same conditions. Remember. This is without launch control or brake boosting. There is lag till around 2000rpms before she picks up her skirt and runs.
And I'm not sure how people get 5.2s 0-60 with xdrive. My car stock was definitely slower. I did some runs stock without a dragy and it was always in the 5.5-5.7s range with LC.

If you can get a tune and don't mind losing warranty at all, do it. A tune is better than a JB+ when it comes to power delivery While I love my JB4, I sometimes wish the power delivery was linear.

I am assuming tires play a big role in the 5.2 number BMW claims. It was probably equipped with sticky summer tires when they tested.

I'm very impressed with the 4.7 and 13.1 quarter mile time you posted. That's prior gen 340i like numbers. Maybe even slightly faster in the quarter mile.

I agree. I have the base skinny all season RFTs. Planning on getting better tyres since these are almost at 4/32.

And yes. The 4.7s 0-60 isn’t too shabby but I like how it pulls from 60 to say 100mph. Useful when overtaking here. And the quarter mile surprised me too. I thought it was around 13.6s with the JB4. Did not expect 13.2!

And yes. I'll be doing more to this car hopefully even though it's a lease. I might even buy it out at the end of the lease if I'm happy with how the car turns out.

Car is an xDrive with 8AT. Running OEM all season RFTs (Pirelli P7 Cinturato) 225/45R18 with treads at 5/32.

I also spoke to xHP last week and they said they're working on a transmission tune for the G20 330i. Can't wait for them to launch it!

I just get a jb4 too. Just scared lol

The 5.7s run was WITHOUT launch control and with DSC on. My stock car does 5.7s and sometimes more WITH LC. The difference is apparent in day to day driving as well as doing LC runs I've got a better custom map 6 now and I'm waiting on my EWG cable to extract more power. But no dragy runs since I had to return the box I got (battery of the first one died after a few weeks; second one was DOA; thought I'd wait for a bit to try out a third one).

Hehe let's see. All my runs so far have been in the 13.2s range. The slowest I've got was with map 2. 13.4s quarter mile. Slowest map 3 run was 13.28s. Not bad for just a piggy back.
I might buy another dragy and see. Who knows. Third time lucky?
