Looks like BMW are behaving like Ford, they have been utterly useless with similar issues with the KuGa PHEV.

Never understood why manufacturers behave like this.

Moved another 0.7 miles last night at 20.12 according to the lease company fitted tracker, so they are either using it for the “butty run” or actually doing something with it.

Ironically, I had an email response from BMW Customer services yesterday, containing a medium sized portion of “tea and sympathy “with a side order of stupidity.
Message said that they would just get the dealer to call me, my response was the dealer has repeatedly told me that they are waiting for information from BMW UK.
So find somebody who can tell me when I will see my car and then call me.

Needless to say no call from the dealer and no further information from BMW Customer Services!

I really feel I am dealing with a bunch of complete fcukwits!

Haha, I might invest in a Formula one racing suit and helmet to be on the safe side!!!

This is the third delivery date i have been given over the last three months so lets see if it arrives. If not I'm stuck with the very thirsty 4 series for another few weeks!

If you get a call pushing the delivery date back, ask them where you need to send the fuel bills you are incurring to!

Reasonable expense incurred by you as a result of them breaching their contract with you.
Make them feel the pain of their incompetence and poor communication.

Is anyone aware of another issue relating to the charging cable itself? I've been told it won't affect my delivery date of W/c 5th as it's a quick issue to fix , assume it's enhancement code 0061430500.

Really not sure to rely on this, but i used "Live Chat" on the BMW website (UK version) and asked if they could give me any details on build / delivery
They asked for VIN or order number (I had order No.), they told me exactly the version of car, the car build date and a 3 week leadtime to be at the dealers
Car scheduled to be built MOn 26th OCt and delivered in w/c 16th Nov?
Again not hanging my hat on this (heard to many stories) But at least i now have a date?

Interested in what mpg you think is very thirsty for a 430d / 435d?

I'd imagine on a decent run it will do more than a 330e with a discharged battery...

So are you just crawling around the town / city in it?

Normally contracts to buy a car dont have a specified delivery date in them or even a long stop date so they are probably not breaching anything.... and you have a free car that you are putting miles on so already benefitting from not paying the lease and not incurring running costs other than petrol / diesel...

The whole experience is rubbish, I get that, but if you are going in to fight you need to be careful with the facts.

Maybe I will leave my interest in a hybrid now and go back to a big powerful petrol engine...

Drove it like I stole it! and got 31mpg

My 330e was delivered today, got it on charge so will see what we get out of that but with theregenration of the battery on the motorway I'm hopeful for a higher MPG, especially if Covid is here to stay, doubt I'll be doing much more than the school run

The driveway is looking awesome though with the 430d and my 330e.

Cracking looking car mate. Unfortunately mine is a company lease so it will sadly look nothing like that. Best choice of colour and alloys in my opinion.

Was told at the start of this that they had recently had another safety recall, this was charger cable related.
They said that it turned out to be just a sticker, that needed attaching to the charger cable.
Not sure whether there are still cars knocking around,
that didn’t have this rectified?

All the standard M sport needs is a black grill and it looks fantastic. The chrome surround does the standard car no favours.

Hi, in Portugal my new 530e is still on hold, and waiting for approval to get a license plate since the beginning of the month... BMW Portugal isn't disclosing minimum information... Do you know if there's some sort of central customer service where my questions could be escalated to? I've already sent a dm to the bmw twitter account, again with no reply... Thanks

Some unexpected good news today. My car is being delivered on Tuesday. The repair has been carried out and the dealership have said it was in the first group of cars to be returned. Result.

Great news mate.
When you download the my BMW app and register the car, make sure they havent still got it in Transportation mode. Mine was until yesterday afternon and it limits the charge you can put in the battery to roughly 20 miles. Charged last night and got 30.

Its totally worth the wait though, the car is just a joy to drive.
