I understand that ETAs can be off. But I am assuming that it must have been scanned at arrival to update to "Arrived at the dealership". This one makes no sense to me.

Do anyone know what are the usual days BMW is shipping the cars? It's been officially 2 weeks since the Production of my car was completed. But still the status of my car says Ready for Transportation. When i checked with my dealer my car should arrive within 2-3 weeks from now.

So just curious to know what are the days generally BMW ships the car. So that I can just login to bmw my garage on that day to see whether there is any change in the status.

I guess our cars will be travelling in the same ship. Mine the production was completed on 30Sep20, till now the status says Ready for Transportation. But last week I have called BMW Genius and he mentioned that my car is at the port and waiting for assigning it to a ship. Hopefully they will ship ours on or before mid next week.

Looks like RCC Europe made it to Baltimore! At DUNDALK port. Is that the usual port it goes to there? Just wondering, but hopefully Jersey is next and possibly even earlier then expected ETA?!

I doubt it will be early. The ETA for Baltimore was 8:00am but it didn't arrive until much later. If the crews that unload only work regular hours, then the loading won't occur until tomorrow. Still hoping tho!

Interesting that it was so long between "production begins" and "paint booth", that's like 11 days... I thought production was normally 3-4 days? Guess I'm wrong!

"Production Begins" sometimes means it's just in the queue to be assembled. If I remember correctly, mine was in 'production begins' for maybe a week or two before it actually was being built.

Ordered my m340i on 9/18, and its been in "Ready to Transport" for almost 2 weeks. Called BMW genius today and they told me my car is in the port waiting to be assigned the carrier...I hope thats done next week and it gets shipped out. I was hoping to get it by the end of October but looks like it will arrive beginning of November.

There is a substantial wait in Mexico for a transporter to pick up the cars. Mine took almost 3 weeks to get on a boat after it was produced.

Easily the worst part of the ordering process since nothing happens for weeks at a time. A bunch of us that got onto RCC Europe ended up waiting almost 3 weeks for a boat.

The good news is that once it’s on a boat it’s all downhill, you start getting ETAs and you can actually track progress.

I would guess my car is sitting next to yours. Still says Ready to Transport online but at the port according to a rep. A ship is leaving later today, RCC America, so hoping it is on that. As near as I can tell the next scheduled ships leave Altamira on 10/22 and 10/28. Both of those ships arrive in Baltimore/Newark after 11/01.

When did you call? They couldn't tell you if your car was assigned to that ship?

I really hope thats our ship..I'll give them a call now. Lets find out.

....and I guess not they close earlier on Friday.

I asked and they could only tell me it was at port and they could not see if it was assigned a ship. I only call on Fridays so don't know how long it has been at port. Last Friday it was not at port. From past experience they don't typically sit at the port very long, but that was from Germany. Hoping it made RCC America, it was being loaded today and leaves tonight.

With all of that said, BMW is a brilliant logistics company and I find it irritating they can't tell you where your car is precisely any given day and where it will be tomorrow. Somebody at BMW knows all of that. Past European Deliveries I could track my VIN as it was at port from the Wallenius site. Now they use different companies with limited tracking. For example, RCC stands for Rays Car Carriers, in case that gives you any insight into the sophisticated tech deployed.

I guess my 2009 335i still shows as my car, probably should update that someday. Before they dropped the old tracking site that car showed Arrived at Port for a full year after it was delivered. It was still more accurate than the current site.

I fully expect to see my car listed by the dealer when it arrives. In my market there are very limited 3 series for sale, and none with some of the things I included.

Yeah mine was the only one at the moment so they could potentially attract more customers by listing it online.

I guess even mine too. It's been 2 weeks and 2 days, hopefully our cars will make it in 10/22 ship. Looks like 3 weeks is an average time our cars will stay at the port before its loaded in the ship. Hopefully I'll get mine by 2nd week of November.

The stage you're in is, in my opinion, by far the worst stage. Primarily because of lack of clarity. During production, you have a production week scheduled, which is generally on time, with a relatively quick production date. Once you are on a ship, you can track the ship, even though it's sometimes a day or two late. But when you are sitting at the port, waiting for a ship, you just have no idea.

For reference, my car sat for about 2 weeks before getting on a ship, but some folks have had them sit for longer. I'm currently on a ship right now, but since I'm adding port accessories, I'm also expecting a wait at the VPC even once it arrives.

Hang in there! Our cars are all on the way, one way or another...

For those of us on the RCC Europe, it's still in Baltimore. It will need to leave that port tomorrow if it's to make it to Newark by the previously scheduled date of 10/19. Looking at the prior GLOVIS ship, it takes just under 24 hours to travel from Baltimore to Newark.
