My Feb 2020 build only came with the 3 pin charger.
Was told all builds from July 2020 come with type 2 cable as well. Not too bothered as I have a type 2 tethered cable on my home charging unit. If on the road I would not bother using a public charger because the charging time is too long. |

My July build, October 330e came with both cables. I’ve only used the granny charger so far as WFH rather than doing the 20k miles a year I was expecting! So far 1,000 miles and I have used ~30 litres of fuel, I have about half a tank of left so overall great economy.

Ive a quick question on charging......
Using the old 13amp plug in cable prior to the cable recall, my car would let me set the charging rate at 10amp and I was getting an empty to full charge in around 5.5 hours but after the latest software update undertaken by the garage I can still set the charging rate at 10amp but when the scheduled charge time of 12:30 am (cheap rate OctopusEnergy 12:30am - 5:00am) it changes it back to 6amp and a charge time of 7.5 hours. Anyone else have this issue? |

Mine keeps changing back to 6amp, I am now in the habit of checking every time I turn off the car to see what the MAX amp is set to. Can't figure out if it's completely random or something triggers it, like cold weather or if the battery is completely empty. Seems to be random though unless anyone else has an answer?

I also had this. Was always having to check as kept going back to 6A.
Mentioned it to dealer when I took it in for the cable recall (think this was only earlier builds) and they set the default to the maximum of 16A, they said it auto-selects the right ampage, ie drops it down accordingly... Not sure this really answers the question satisfactorily to be honest as to why it was doing this, but, since it went in and I got the recall replacement charging cable, updated to 11.2020.42 (I think it was) software and they set the default to 16A, it’s been on 10A as it should be, when using the 3 pin plug every time. Have done loads of charges as well in that time and I reckon it could be 1 in 3 charges when it dropped it to 6A before... |
