Got the confirmation that my car is currently sitting in Port of Halifax since March 1st. Dealer had put a rush order on it, lets hope to see some miracle.....

When did you order your car? Isn't it weird that this card is almost exclusively custom built and there are almost no cars that you can walk into a dealership and drive off?

Buddy of mine (in the US) ordered a new Mercedes a few years ago, and did the European delivery. Had a big vacation centered around it.
When they shipped his car he was able to track it online, but then the tracking stopped after the ship arrived at the destination port... Nobody knew where his car was. Long story short, they eventually found it at a dealership's lot, with a window sticker and three thousand miles on it. I don't know what MB compensated him for, but he wasn't too happy about the situation. It took him a lot longer to get his MB than the 12 weeks that BMW is currently telling us. I try to keep remembering that every time I check the "Track My BMW" page... |

How long does it usually take from the car to get to dealership (PA) to port (NY)?
Mine is expected to arrive at the port tomorrow (it was delayed by 2 days.. hopefully no more!!), and I assume it shouldn't take more than 3 weeks for the port-to-dealership transition since the dealership is only 150 miles from the port.. Am I too optimistic? |

I ordered mine on Dec 8 2020. There is no Tanzanite Blue with Red interior in the whole of Canada. Moreover I opt for the premium excellent package with Adaptive M Suspension which narrow down to only a handful of cars in Canada. So with all the combination above plus open pore wood trim, there is zero in the whole of Canada, except mine.

so the status was In Transit obviously being shipped to CA.
arrived last thursday, next day status changed back to At Port, but this time US port then yesterday changed to In Transit (again) probably means on truck to dealer it's like 10-20 miles from port to dealer and been in this status for 2 days now guessing i should be called by this weekend, they just want to make sure it takes 120 days 4 months even

Last I saw was it should be headed to Baltimore after the Jacksonville stop, and then to Newark. Last I checked - it should make it to Baltimore tomorrow, but at this point who really knows as the eta’s are always changing. Tracking these vessels are pretty damn annoying. |

Anyone else on the Volans Leader? It's scheduled to hit Panama in about 4 hours.

YeeHaww... Just called BMW customer service and my car is on the rail. However they have no timeline as to when the car was moved on the rail. So worst case scenario, the car gets to Concord Ontario on Monday and probably to the dealer by end of next week.

WTF soo many updates today
Quote:
And I have no idea why 2 weeks later it updates at light speed. After the 1st week post-completion post-Ready for transport updated (2/19), still no online change, but Genius informed me it was already being transported to the Port of Departure. Then 2 weeks later, online updates this weekend at light speed, blowing through Awaiting carrier assignment > Dispatched from Factory > At the port > IN TRANSIT. Does anyone know if at this stage if 'At the port' meant Departure, and it's in-transit it's just on the ship? Or by the time it reaches THIS update, it really is on it's way to the dealership ???

By the time it hits "in transit" you should be able to see what ship it is on (your dealer will know too). From there, look up the ship's schedule and that should give you your actual delivery date +/- a day or two.

So "in transit" isn't between "Port of Arrival" to (next step) Dealership? I'm going to call BMW Genius/my CA today and try to get more information. BMW My Garage only lists this status, it doesn't list ship information or else I don't know where else to look for it.

Called BMW Genius today from inside my glass cage of emotion.
Carrier/ship = Glovis Cardinal BMW Genius said it was supposed to head out to sea 3/8, but *actually* it left EARLY 3/4 Tracking via marinetraffic.com shows it already offshore from Galveston TX Estimated arrival date is 3/17 - (I'm assuming that's arrival to Port, not dealership)
