Leather quality
Amazing that BMW continues to use low quality leather. Like vernasca, absolute garbage leather. The 22 Santa Fe Calligraphy just picked up, has nappa leather that blows away the leather in my 19 X3. Same crap you’ll find in $70k+ BMWs. At least make nappa a $1k option. Like other models.
Vernasca is durable though! 😂 |

Maybe I’m not classy enough, but I like the Vernasca leather in my car. I find the seats comfortable and I think it looks nice enough (I’ve gotten multiple comments from people thinking the seats look cool with the blue stitching I have).
Your argument about the Santa Fe can be said about a lot of cars though. About 5 years ago my wife had a -$30K Acura ILX that had standard adaptive cruise, blind spot, heated seats etc. that you pay extra for on the BMW. I know I can get the same or more content for cheaper by going with a nice Honda or Toyota, but the driving experience isn’t the same IMO. Edited for grammar. |

But vernasca is low quality, maybe a tad better than Dakota. But not much. More power to people who like it, but at least make nappa an optional on 3/4. |

I do agree it wouldn’t hurt to offer the Nappa on the 3/4. I would have loved ventilated seats on my 3 as well. No idea why they don’t offer that type of stuff when it can be had on much cheaper vehicles. |

Then again, these companies are pushing fake leather now. I’ll take vernasca any day over Sensatec. |

I guess BMW N/A made that decision for a reason and I'd be curious to know why..

They make Sensatec standard. Then $1450 for Vernasca. Thinking your getting a great upgrade. It’s better, but not that much. |

To me, the principal reason for getting a BMW is the car's performance. BMWs have never been industry leading on design. But now that the designs are getting ugly, and BMW doesn't let smaller cars get nice options, the reasons for getting a BMW are getting narrower and narrower; can the better performance make up for the missing features and ugly designs? |

Understood and I agree, that’s why got the M550. But the issue is, there isn’t much else out there like a 3/4 series. C class, Lexus IS350/500, Cadillac CT4/V, Audi A4/S4. To name few. Not much else to consider if want a 4 series coupe or convertible. |
