The car is so much more aggressive now. The Mperformance brake kit has 374mm front slotted disc and 345mm rear slotted disc, the calipers are larger in size to for larger pistons
I just recently upgraded to this M Performance brake kit. How was the brake feel for you?

I've noticed that pedal feel is softer compared to stock with a weak initial bite. I have to depress the pedal quite far down to feel any considerable stopping power. I've reached out to my dealer about this and they said that it is typical during the break-in period and should get better once the pads have been properly set.

Was that the case for you as well after the upgrade?

Give it a nice Italian break job to bed in the pads and see if that helps. I'm not running this set up on my m340 but sometimes newer brakes need bedded and can glaze if you've been doing soft braking

Thanks! I'll give that a try. I initially avoided doing the bedding process as my service advisor recommended to avoid heavy braking for the first 200 miles to properly break the pads in.

As for the Italian brake job, would 8-10 rounds of braking from 60-10mph be enough? That seems to be common bedding process from what I have read in different threads.

That just means slam the breaks from a decent speed and see if that fixes it!

I upgraded to the mpeformance brakes as well, and feels it is softer too. I didnt code the mperformance brakes initially, but after coding, didnt noticed much difference.

I’d love to just have your blue calipers for my 330i. I have m sport package but not the handling package that comes with painted calipers.

I have 395mm calipers with discs and pads if you are interested?

All G2x cars that come with the M Sport braking system come with the 4 pot blue Brembo as shown in the OP's comparison photo - this is the smallest of all the G series 4 pot calipers and uses 348mm discs. They will also have the 345mm rear calipers.

The only exception to the rule, as has been mentioned, is the M340i - which if optioned with the track handling pack - gets upgraded to the bigger blue 4 pots which use a 374mm disc. Again, the rears are 345mm and are not upgraded vs the other G2x cars with M Sport brakes. M340i cars that didn't have the track pack selected get the 348mm fronts as default.

Therefore, if you are a M340i owner with the track package and then fit the M Performance brakes to your car, you are literally removing the identical braking system that you would be replacing it with - the only difference being red paint and dimpled / slotted discs.

If you are a regular G2x owner and opt to fit these to a car that already has the 348mm front and 345mm rear - then you are upgrading the front only, as the rears remain the same size.

The cheaper option is to source blue or even better the grey 374mm brake calipers on ebay etc and then buy the 4 x M Perf discs - then custom paint the 4 calipers!
Is it possible to install 374 mm discs and calipers from the BMW G11/G30/G32 on front??

I upgraded my 2021 M340 from the "stock" blue M performance calipers/rotors (348mm?) to these bigger ones (375mm?) that come with the Track/Handling package. I would've ordered that Pkg if only I would've known it came with larger ones! I thought it was only tires/fan/cooler. I had my BMW parts dept. order the various order numbers for the front rotors and calipers.

I have my Blue M performance brakes that come on the stock M340 are available - if anyone wants them! (less than 500 mi on them, perfect cond.)

PM me if interested

Nice explanation!
That's why I chose not to get them, I like red calipers but they were not available at the time of order. July 2019

For an M340i owner, if you already have the track handling pack, front disc will be 374mm with blue calipers. 395mm dimpled disc won't fit your original blue calipers due to increase in disc size so upgrade has to be done with new Red M Performance calipers.

How much did you pay for the new rotors and calipers?

Delayed reply….. but not sure what you mean here?

395mm is not an option offered by BMW for any of the G2x cars. Red M Performance calipers are 374mm on the G2x

The 395mm M Perf slotted / dimpled rotor is for 5, 7, 8 & X5 / X6 models.

395mm can be fitted to the G2x with the larger 395 caliper (available in grey unpainted finish, blue or red).

Does anyone know the number for just the disks that come with the set (with the slots)? I like the blue calipers than came stock with the cooling/tire package (374mm disks) but wouldnt mind the slotted discs. I assume they sell just the discs in case someone needs to replace them but I couldnt find any separate part numbers so far.

Turns out I was able to answer my own question at least for the fronts. Bimmerworld carries them (part numbers 34106895647/34106895648)

Great post and images - helped me make my mind up on buying this for mine (non-track pack M340i). Only issue… 2 month delay due to BMW supply issues!! I was aware of part shortages regarding computer chips etc. but didn't think this would be something that would be affected, oh well, Christmas soon come.

Hi there! Nice job on the upgrade!! Not looking to do this myself, I have a G20 with the M Sport brake package and happy with them.

I am just curious about one thing, not even fully related to your work as well haha.

Can someone tell me what the rods are/do on the disk hub? I have them, and I just simply want to know what they are for

Arrived earlier than expected. Happy with the results! I know blue is synonymous with BMW, but the M Kit, in my opinion, makes the car look much sportier.

395mm fits well with 19" wheel?
I understand it does, on my F82 I had CCB with 19", but just to make sure.
