UK M440i build
I'm UK based and ordered a M440i in July 2021 through a PCP with my local dealer and using a build allocation the dealer already had.
I was sent a screenshot about 3 weeks ago of my production week being Week 44 and delivery Week 48. "Planned production date" 10 Nov and "conf. F3 from /conf. F3 to" as 01 Dec to 05 Dec. I chased this up yesterday and was told "no update". What does "conf. F3 from" and "conf. F3 to" mean and based on the recent delays in builds/delivery does this look like a vehicle I will see in 2022 rather than 2021? Cheers Last edited by Pipsicles; 11-25-2021 at 08:00 AM.. |

Looking at MDecoder using my VIN it appears to show Production date matching the above and the options seem correct, although I note two are capitalised:
DEL.FR.PASS.LUMBAR SUPP./FR.PASS.BWA. ENTF. TOUCHFUNKTION CONTROL DISPLAY Does this mean they were deleted? Does Mdecoder just display what was ordered or what was built? I'm clueless. |

Think I knew about the lumbar support delete at point of order, but slightly disappointed by touchscreen as I thought the issue around supply of that part might have just ended, according to another post on these forums.
Ah well, at least I won’t get my McD greasy fingerprints all over the screen. |

Hi...I also am waiting for a new M440i and like you my dates have gone all over the place, but settled on December week 48(ish) which is now-ish.
My Sales Person is hopeless. Can you tell us what (UK) number you rang for that or what e-mail you used? Thanks |

I just used the website chat which pops up bottom right of webpage on the UK website (https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/index.html).
Still not heard anything from my SA so doubtful it has shipped. |

Mine still says stuck in quality control and still delivery week commencing 13th December. I think there is no chance of that so looking at January (at least!)

Chatted once a week for last three weeks, one did, others said production complete so tend to believe the stuck one as no movement since. Still shows delivery to dealer week commencing 13th December which is not going to happen if still at factory

What does stuck in QC actually mean:
1) not undergone QC yet. Staff shortages, back log to clear etc 2) undergoing QC but it takes ages because staff are having to work differently due to COVID restrictions 3) undergone QC and something is wrong so has not passed, then takes time to get into a "being fixed" status 4) undergone QC and something is wrong, being fixed but waiting on parts 5) undergoen QC passed but so many cars waiting to leave factory that they are just sitting on this status. Any one have any ideas? Last edited by Pipsicles; 12-05-2021 at 11:03 AM.. |

For what it is worth, I ordered my 2022 M440i back in June. It was to arrive in September. Then October. Then November. I actually received a message from the dealer in October advising that the car had left Germany and was on the boat en-route to Halifax. I was told the total time would be approximately 2 weeks (optimistic in my opinion but, as they say, hope springs eternal). Alas, a month later I received the following message:
"However, it seems the car is still at Germany Port. My system showed it was on boat with expected delivery in November at one point and then reverted back to German Port. BMW gave us an update while I was away and it seems your car as well as several others are stuck at the port waiting for a recall to be performed. It seems there was a supplier issue with a batch of modules and they are waiting for the part to be corrected before it ships from Germany. They did not provide us with an ETA on this retrofit." Almost a month later and no change in status. I wonder if others are affected in a similar manner. Sigh! |

I'm hoping my SA is right with the info provided.
He has been fairly good at not wanting to provide me with any info until he had something concrete to tell me. My last inquiry was met with a "I'll let you know as soon as it leaves the factory and is on route" message. I beleive this is the message I have just received and I sincerely hope its not just BS. He did leave the caveat that I dreaded though - definitely before Xmas....which does smell a bit like BS |
