March M340i builds status
I've seen several who have scheduled build dates in March. What's your current status and what info are you getting from the dealer and Genius?
Mine was originally week 9, bumped to 10. Was told last week that it would start production this week but so far it hasn't. And does anyone know for sure whether the build week is estimated start or completion? |

my allocation went active first of the month and got the production number immediately, genius told me build week 11 and my salesman is saying march 21st which is actually week 12
Also interested in the relevance of build week, I'm assuming that's when it starts it's journey through the assembly lines |

My M340 iX was a Feb build went into production begins on 1 Feb and as of yesterday is still in production begins, BMW genius told me yesterday that note in the system now states it will begin on 9 Mar. So, things are sliding to the right a bit, I'm sure this will affect subsequent month builds as well.

Just gave genius a call for a status update. My status has not changed from a week 10 build date. I have gotten different answers, but this is the second genius associate that told me build week is the production start week not the completion week. He said it should start next week.
I also asked about the Ukraine issue affecting the Mexico plant and he said they haven't been told about any shutdowns other than the German plants that have been announced to close publicly. I would guess that an engine shortage could hit the MX plant soon but I'm thinking that would take whatever amount of transit time from Germany to MX to cause delays to our cars. Hopefully the March builds can get through before any delays hit. Not getting the build week pushed back again is positive news at least. |

a little birdie told me the plant in Mexico is shut down for 2 weeks (this upcoming week being the 2nd week) and maybe longer due to supply shortages, not sure if it's true but the source sounded legit and if everyone sees more build week push backs this week then it probably is.
When will this supply chain nightmare end |

My M340iX went from "Scheduled for Production" back to "Order Received". I was previously told that production would start week 11, but now Genius knows nothing about the status. They suggested I contact my SA. Waiting for a callback.

well my week 11 build is now happening this #10 week according to Genius, just made some last minute changes to the build before it locks in
Either it was a elaborate troll who did their homework that told me about the plant slowdown or BMW is moving around parts since their whole European operation is shut down for a few weeks at minimum |

I saw in other threads where MX builds were showing updates so I don't think they are closed. |

went from grey to blue, m792 to m791 wheels, blue to red calipers, added driving assistance pro pack and the parking assistance pack (which is $700 now, missed the no cost add-on window I guess).
I think the week 10 genius report was before those changes went live so maybe it'll push it back, I'll call again tomorrow and see |

I'm trying not to check too often but it's so hard. I'll be relieved when it at least starts production. |

I opened the developer's tools in Chrome on the My Garage page. There's a date buried in there of 3/17 for mine under "Production Date". I wonder if that's the projected completion date. The Genius line told me more info is available after VIN assigned so I'll probably call just to see what I can find out.
Edit: My SA texted me to let me know it went into production with an estimated completion of 3/17 confirming this. |
