No, because people just copy the code and they can use the OBD2 unlock as well ie BM3. Basically taking away profits/recognization of femto when they actually were the ones to unlock it.

I know these crazy new DMEs are getting harder and harder to crack, Now its either ship your car's brains out and have a dead car for a bit or carry on this sad life of stock hp figures.

The question is not about "is it possible to unlock via this or via that", but "Will it be copied once end-user solution will be released?"
And the answer is "YES". The next question is "are we want to loose all of our time (and money) investments in 1 day or not?". We understand that you want quick and easy solution, but please understand us as well. |

To put it as simply as possible: All of us would like to pick BM3, MHD, MG, etc and be able to flash and unlock the car for the cost of the license. Its a major barrier to have to pay $2k on a 06/20+ and even annoying to pay $450 on the pre 06. It should be included in the license to use the end product. This is exactly why i avoided buying a post 06/20 production date M340. At least worst case now I can spend a few hundred and get mine unlocked at a local shop. Then the worry is the risk of relock and having to pay again. All seems like a bit of a racket to me.

I hope you can figure out a safe way to release a proprietary obd module using your work that can unlock our cars in our garages. write something in the code only you know and lock the chip down. they can copy your hex but if you put a gremlin in the code, only you will be able to figure it out and fix. then all will know the origin. I know you do good work. but ultimately, if another company cracks and releases this service, you will be forgotten,

If you have had a software update you will likely now need a bench unlock. As an example with my 2020 I was able to unlock flash lock etc etc just fine at home using my Mission Performance software. However once my car eventually went in for the brake recall (I held out as long as I could) the car needed to be bench unlocked
Hope this helps ps- the funny thing is what eventually forced me into the dealership was BMW financial would not give me my lease buyout number (on line or over the phone) until the recall was performed. And in that I am about ready to list the car - I needed that info |

For what it's worth, I talked with Carbahn yesterday and they told me that they are ~3 months out from releasing a flash tune for the 2021+ M340. If true, it seems like a solution for us with a locked ECU is not too far out
