Hello Everybody!
Brand new to the community here! Just took delivery of my 2023 M340i xDrive a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t be any happier! It’s a real blast to drive! Got the car in Brooklyn Grey exterior with full carbon fiber exterior package over Tacora red interior. Car is currently getting its ceramic coat put on. My first BMW I have owned. I went with the M340i because I was looking for a car that could do it all. Something that is reliable, practical, easy to drive when commuting, but could also have a little fun when pushed. Not to mention I think the G20 looks stunning. I am going to be using this car as my daily driver and will be putting a lot of miles on it. I’ve heard great things about the B58 engines reliability over time and this was the main reason I went with this car. Still, to be cautious, I also picked up the extended service contract to 75k miles and the extended warranty to 100k miles. Was curious to see if anyone who has put high mileage on their G20 had any good or bad experiences they could share? I am the type of car owner who maintains cars to manufacture standards and will keep every record of everything done to it, so I’m looking to get prepared lol. Thanks! |

Makes me regret ordering a 330i. Gorgeous car especially in that color!

I’m at over 25k at my one year ownership mark. I bought it new, and have had a couple random freak lights turn on and have went away. I had a weird situation where one of my wheel speed sensors went bad but that was replaced under warranty. I unfortunately had one of my front parking sensors chipped by a rock and I had to replace that out of pocket since it wasn’t a manufacturing fault. Mine is lowered on Dinan springs and I’ve recently developed a low speed creak that I’m assuming is one of the bushings. Other than that, nothing but joy! Congratulations on yours

Depends on what you mean by high mileage. I usually assume that means 100k miles or more and there probably aren’t many G20 owners on here who are at that point yet.
I have 32k on my 2021 M340i and it hasn’t required anything but regular maintenance. I’ve had two tires replaced under the BMW tire and wheel insurance, but nails and potholes are hard to avoid. I also extended my maintenance coverage to 5 years/48k, so I am supposed to get coverage for a few extra items (brake pads, etc.). It might be my imagination, but the dealer seems to want to use the maintenance plan whenever possible to replace cabin filters, wiper blades, etc. Using the iDrive condition based service, oil changes come up at about 9k miles. |

I'm on the fence too...between Portimao blue and black leather with blue stitching or Brooklyn Grey with Tacora red. Both look very good.

I was also thinking of Portimao blue as well when it came time to order. But since I knew I wanted to get the carbon exterior package (rear spoiler, diffuser, mirrors and front splitter), I felt the carbon looked a little better on the grey paint over the blue, so I went with Brooklyn Grey over Tacora Red. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of those choices!

I’m at almost 50k on my 2020, and I have no regrets, nor have I experienced any major issues to date.

I really like the grey as well, but I've never had a blue car and I wanted blue for a change. This time I didn't want black, white, or grey... |

Fresh out with its ceramic coat done. Lighting today isn’t doing much justice. Had the wheels done as well. These jet black wheels lose their shine pretty quick. Also removed the badging in the rear.

2022 M340 xDrive with 22,000 miles on it, most of those with the AA catted downpipe, other than that it’s stock. Regularly scheduled oil maintenance and that’s all. I hear this motor and transmission is solid and reliable.

I’m following this post because I am in the same boat too although I’m still waiting for my car. Beautiful choice. Just curious as to why you decided to have the badges removed in the rear?
I bought the M340 badge in black and I’m going to use that not sure about the XDrive logo which obviously is silver. My car will be metallic black sapphire. |

Seasoned BMW owner advise.
Warm the car up before driving hard if you are planning on keeping it. Keep up with required service. Replace parts if they break or start to look worn outside of warranty. If you start messing with power levels remember its "pay to play" BMW datalogs everything with the G series cars. ;-) Good luck on new ownership!
