G50,
I had two G30 540is, and I didn’t modify either of them. Very nice cars and I couldn’t really fault them. I didn’t need such a big car, and that’s the main reason I went for a 3 series. I loved the B58 engine, hence the M340i Xdrive. I think the interior is the same as the 5’s in terms of quality. In terms of size I don’t feel the driver and passenger space is very different. Rear leg room is smaller, but 99% of the time it’s just me and my wife in the car so that’s not an issue. Boot space is also smaller, but it’s more than adequate for my needs. In terms of driving comfort, the 3 perhaps gives a slightly firmer ride in COMFORT mode. There is perhaps a little more road noise (the 5s and 3 had/have runflats). In terms of driving feeling, the 5s were a bit more “wallowly”. I love the sports steering in the 3, and it is a lot more fun round the country lanes. Would I go back to a 5? No. But, as everyone always says, you’ll need to try one so you can find out which you prefer. |

In my Australian delivered (June/July 2020 Build) M340i xDrive, I have pulled out the F203 7.5A fuse from the rear (boot) fuse box to leave the Exhaust Valve permanently open, it has been out for a couple of months now and I have had no issues.

I believe there is the option to roll back any updates, but I have never had the need to use it, so I can't comment on the reliability of that feature.
Maybe you should try a new thread to ask people of their experiences with Bimmercode roll back. I'd also post it on the "General G20 Sedan / G22 Coupe / G26 Gran Coupe Discussions" so it gets to a larger Bimmercode user base. |

Did you have to put it in Sports mode before you pulled it out?

In my G21 330e I coded it and then pulled the plug whilst it was open.
Put a little wrap bag around it and used a plasti-tie to seal and secure it up out of the way. Was going to do this on the G20 M340d that I just got, but even in comfort mode (default) I can feel equal flow/heat coming from both exhausts, so I am not sure if the M340d even closes one pipe off??? Its brand new 73 plate but the last of the non LCI, as I wanted buttons and a gear lever ![]() |

No change in flow or noise when changed from comfort to Sport+. See pics. 2nd is driver side (looks a bit darker, but same curve and no valve as passenger), 3rd is passenger. |

That's interesting. Maybe the 340d doesn't have the valve. Here's my 340i with the valve closed and open.

Be good if they could, I had another look this morning with my head torch, can see right up into the bend and there is 100% not a valve on the bend like yours.
I looked underneath the car at the whole back exhaust assembly and can't see any wiring or plug that could be removed/control a flap deeper within the back box. |
